Talking about obscure, this one takes the cake! Two car set of 1990 Subaru Legacy world speed record attempt cars. Not only obscure, but beautiful executed examples. $15 of the best dollars I have spent in a while. Hope you enjoy this offbeat set. ![]() From the Subaru web site... "PRIOR TO LAUNCHING THE 1990 LEGACY, SUBARU DREW ATTENTION TO THE CAR’S CAPABILITIES AND DURABILITY BY ATTEMPTING TO SET WORLD SPEED RECORDS WITH IT. IN AN EFFORT INVOLVING THREE LEGACY RS TURBO SEDANS, SUBARU ESTABLISHED A NEW 100,000-KILOMETER WORLD SPEED RECORD AS WELL AS 13 INTERNATIONAL RECORDS, SOME OF WHICH STILL STAND TODAY." ![]() Full site link to read more... http://www.drive.subaru.com/Spr09/Spr09_20years.htm In the Arizona desert, these two car (of a three car team) helped prove the upcoming release of this series. The white #2 (Named "Hare") ran over 447 hours at an average speed of 138mph ![]() While the yellow #3 ("Chick") covered 445 hours at 136 mph. Many of these records still stand today. ![]() Thanks for the look.... ![]()

Super looking Subies Ward! Are these the ones that Mark had for sale on his site? I bought a bunch of Tomica models from him as well when he bought out the remaining stock of Velo City.

Yep, this came from the sale he had last week. Like I said, a good use of $15 dollars, these were just so odd a subject matter that they fit right into my collection. And Tomica did an amazing job on the detail, I really am so pleased with this set! |

The photos are chrisper on the other site, they lines do not apper wavey as they do here, but I think you get the idea. I wonder why my photobucket photos never seen as sharp hosted here in the garage? |

I've noticed the same thing Ward when posting pics on here, JLTalk and HT. The pics always show up larger and slightly better on both of those sites. Pics seem like they shrink when posted on the Garage. |

It depends on what browser you're using. IE6 won't shrink the pics to fit, for example, but newer browsers like IE7 will. That's only happened since we upgraded to Zetaboards as opposed to the old Invision board we had before (JLTalk still uses Invision, while HT is an entirely different company). It's meant to prevent people from scrolling to the side to see the whole picture, however I am in agreement with everyone else that I'd rather see the pics large than sized to fit. |
