One new casting ('80 Malibu), two new Racing Champions castings ('53 Packard & '31 Cadillac), and I believe this is the first time the Typhoon has made it to this line.

The Bobby Allison Nova is stunning, the Fury looks good as both a taxi and a squad car, and the pink AMX is very nice. The flamed Challenger is stunning!

My complaint, however, is that the new castings ('75 Corvette and '80 Malibu) are not offered as stock vehicles, instead being customs/racers). We've had three or four issues of that Corvette so far and none has a hood! At least the Malibu in BWF is a stock configuration if not factory paint. Also, what's up with the PIP Mustang? This is one is bland, unispired, and a repeat PIP casting. There are so many great cars to PIP!

Tom Z posted over on the JL website that there would be a special diamond in the rough chase car on that Mustang. I guess we have white lightnings, lightning strikes, and now a third chase car from JL. This chase car thing is way beyond getting out of hand.

Who cares about the chase versions.
I would just be happy to see the regular versions hanging on the pegs.
2009 was NOT a good year to find any of the 40 Years JL castings on the pegs at either the local or regional level in Canada.
I certainly hope that we will ACTUALLY see some of the new Forever 64 releases on the pegs on a regular basis.
The light keeps getting dimmer and dimmer.
Pretty soon the light will go out for me at this rate.

Cheers. Cobra

That's probably the one statement I would make about JL's for 2009. Although I am beginning to get them here, I don't want to have to fight the e-bay mongers for JL's now just because of "chase" cars---I just want to be able to buy the regular cars.

THANKS, Cobra.

R2 and 3 have a few things for me. I love that '31 Caddy...and of course the BWFs and police cars will find there way into my collection. Not overly in awe about the flame jobs, but at least the Malibu gives us a different casting...as well as a different color scheme, than those that have been used lately.

The Beat The Heat Corvette is kind of funky but I will add it to the RWB collection

I really like seeing classic models like the 1931 Caddy, 1953 Packard Caribbean, and 1951 Hudson Hornet!

The BwF Challenger and Malibu are a no brainer.

The 1950 Chevy Panel Truck looks great in Police Deco's and the siren!

Taking another look at r3...I'm really looking forward to the Fury police car. It looks like they have a pretty decent choice for wheels here as well.

I'm agree with you 100% Cobra.

The JL chase cars with plastic bases don't impress me. I have several of them, and I don't care if I get anymore.

A special diamond in the rough chase car of the Mustang......WHY???????......because Mustangs sell and bring a premium.
