James, I was thinking of a VW circa 1970, or thereabouts. I have enough Beetles on hand, including JLs, to make things interesting. I also have Type 1 and 2 buses, KGs, and the MB Type 3 Fastback as well. I just wish someone made a reasonable Type 3 squareback, but, I think I'm okay. Along with VWs, I don't see any reason why the dealer can't be pushing other foreign cars, either...Citroens were available here in those days. So were MGs and Volvos, too. A current BMW, though, sounds intriguing... By the way, twinning VW and Volvo's not so outlandish: there's one in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. |

1970? Intersting, and at that time VW didn't have that many models in their range. There was of course the Beetle, Fastback/Squareback, Type 4, K70, Karmann Ghia and Microbus. The Squareback and Type 4 could be tricky but the others would be easy to find. |

The Type 4, I assume, you mean the 411? The K70 was never sold in America. I believe Schuco made a 411, but they're tricky indeed. I am assuming Siku made the squareback wagon...and that it would be difficult to find nowadays. Wow, wouldn't it be something if I could take the MB #67 fastback and make one? I'd put that on the back burner, behind the proposed MB #33 Zephyr Estate. VW/Volvo together looks better and better every minute. I already have Playart and Corgi DLs, and Corgi P coupes. |

Schuco did do the Type 4/411 but they're hard to find and even in played with condition they still fetch a lot. Siku did the 1500 estate but I think they're even rarer and even more expensive than Schuco's 411. If the K70 wasn't sold in America, you're left with the Beetle, Karmann Ghia and Microbus as models that are cheap and easy to find. Combining the dealership with Volvo is starting to look like a good idea. |

Thanks to NoirGuru I've finally been learning the settings on the new camera. Here are some pics of a few new rides that have entered the yard recently (and a few I just wanted better pics of):![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Cool! You found an Escort! I remember you'd been looking for one. I'd like to find an old Fiesta- like the Pilen version I have (no way that one's going on the yard!). That would be a great addition... |

That's probably where I come in. I sent Sean a Mira Fiesta earlier this year - I'm sure I'll find another one at some point. |

You should start your own junkyard! Conversely, Swifty's Salvage is always on the lookout for quality iron manufactured in 1985 or earlier. Mainly because the yard's set in 1985.

Much appreciated, James ![]() When the weather improves, and I get to go to the fleas, I'm gonna also be looking for Hare Splitters for the yard. They'd be perfect! |

Nope, nothing's for sale. Though I have a good idea which ones you might be interested in, LOL! I've also noticed you only tend to comment on my customs/dioramas if you want to purchase something or ask where I found something. And a few new pictures of recent additions from old442dude, bangerkid45, and Velocity Arts (and one poor Firebird I saw on the pegs at Walmart that had casting flaws on the trunk): ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

SOme one stole the wheels from right out under that pretty Firebird. You should have better security at Swifty's Salvage. You need a pack of junkyard dogs! |

We have some junkyard cats... Really cuts down on the rat population too! And we sold the wheels off that one.

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!

Having a Volvo dealer within a VW place, to me, would be like renting a room in your house to a vampire.

You GO, Stutzie! The more, the merrier. I'd like to think we have created a monster. None of this on the sanctimonious, self-important MCCH, I can assure you! I think Ivan ought to make one. It would be a good way to have him vent the rage within this fetish he seems to have for Volvos. The wheels of creativity must rotate! |

You may have a good point, SAK. I was thinking about it on one of my long drives.....which brand/ or type car should be the "base" layer, where the other cars are stacked on top?? Volvo's, Renault's, boxy hatchbacks, or boring mini-vans and SUV's? Of course the ones on top would be rewarded the pleasure of being seen well, so should THEY be the terrible cars or the ones you like?? So many questions and ideas....

that car crusher is much needed, you also need a set of forks on that loader. i have a set that attaches to the bucket, you just press them on and paint. i will see if i can find them in my parts bin. |

That would be awesome! I got the front end loader from craftymore, and he had originally purchased it with forks attached (you can see the paint loss where they were attached) but they had been lost over the years, unfortunately. As for the crusher, that's being worked out.
