My PIP 95 Lebaron, suggestions?

Some of you that remember me might remember the 86 mustang vertible I had. It's gone on to mustang heaven many years back but last year I got to really wanting a vertible again. I found this nice little 95 Lebaron. it ran great but the paint was gone from the hood & trunk and the top was in rough shape. I started sanding and primering the hood & trunk and when it became apparent I wasn't going to get it painted this year I matched up the paint the best I could and gave it a home job.

Then I decided I couldn't afford an extra vehicle and set out to sell it. Had it listed, had a couple buyers interested, then tragedy struck. July 4th, beautiful day so I decided to take it on one last drive up on the blue ridge parkway. it was a great ride up, stopped at Ravens Roost and took some pics, drank a couple cold ones (and gave them time to wear off) then headed home. 7 miles from the house the transmission went, no warning, no nothing just all of a sudden I had no gears! Coasted down the next ramp and called a tow truck.

Trying to decide what to do and my sister and her husband offered to give me 3 months off of payments on my truck (amounting to $600) He was going to fix it and sell it. He usually restores jags but thought it would be a neat project. So knowing I'd never get $600 from a junkyard I went for it and called it done.

Flash forward to Oct. I get a call from my sis asking what I'm doing fri. Thinking she wanted to do lunch I said "nothing why?" She then proceeds to tell me they are bringing my car back! I stopped her and told her I didn't have the money to buy it back and she says "no, we appreciate all you do for mom, it's our way of saying thanks" Is that cool or what? I guess it comes from her feeling a bit guilty with mom getting older and such and she doesn't get over to see her. I'm the kid who takes mom to the store and her errands & docs appointments each week, so hey if guilt gets me this then so be it!

So now I have my PIP back again with a new transmission! Everything else mechanically is running good so here's hoping it keeps on keeping on! I am buying a top soon, think I'll go with black, whatta you guys think? I hear they can be a b***h to put on, anyone have experience? I've got a friend that will help as I hear it's impossible by yourself. Also got the tip to do it either when its extremely hot in the sun or in a heated garage, that the heat expands the material a bit, sound right?

I also plan to get it painted, the way it is is fine for now but I do want a professional job on it. I'm also thinking of going with more of a blue then the teal green/blue it is now. I like the wheels that are on it and will probably keep them. Thinking about a spoiler on the back but not sure. Maybe some bottom trim, I have some neon blue trim lights for it but not sure if I'll go that route. So here it is, suggestions?

Sorry about the title under the pic, its from when I was selling it. Don't really have another. Also just noticing it looks very blue in the pics. In real life it has more of a green tone, this is actually more the color I want on it!

Guess i shoulda looked around a bit more before posting. I thought this would be the place to post my real life 1:1 PIP but I don't see that anyone else has done it. Sorry Swifty, maybe you can move it into the off topic section for me?

Moved to off topic per request.

Also, very nice car! I have no experience with convertibles at all but I have an ex-gf who had (I think she still does, haven't talked to her in awhile) one of these.

I would definitely add a rear wing though, and I like the teal blue-green color personally!

Yeah? But the color in the pic is much bluer looking then it really looks, depending how the sun hits it sometimes it almost looks like a forest green or something. I like the bluer color like in the pic, reminds me of the beach! Maybe I'll paint some Pink Flamingos on it, LOL

Heres the plate:

I like the appearance of the color in the top pic. If that's bluer than the real car, I definitely agree that's the way to go.
