Today's Car of the Day is Greenlight's Riley Mk XX Daytona Prototype.

This particular example comes to us in Micheal Shank Racing livery. This is one of two cars the team runs in the Daytona Prototype class of the Grand Am racing series; the other looking essentially the same but in blue rather than orange.

Riley sell their car for Pontiac, Ford, Lexus, BMW or Porsche engine installations. With a customer supplied engine, each car costs $405,000 USD.

Seriously impressive effort from Greenlight here. It would have been very for them to put out a very generic, less detailed shape and not many would notice. But instead we have a fantastic model that is limited only by its relatively small market. Excellent paint work and a cool exposable engine compartment really add to this one. I just wish they'd offered the Shank car in blue instead of orange.

BONUS CotD pic: I actually got to see this car in action this past summer at the EMCO Gears Classic at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course. Seeing these machines in person was amazing, they could really move!

Awesome! Is this the same Riley from the Riley & Scott cars?

How cool is that to actually see the real 1/1 in action! I've yet to order any or these, but my wallet is feeling a strain now.

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
Indeed it is nice to see someone like GL do a casting like this. I am not especially interested in this sort of car, but I have bought cars in the past that didn't interest me much in real life, but enjoyed owning a miniature version. I just may get me one of these. Nice looking piece in anyone's collection!
<-----"Oh, Swifty and you guys!! No one has come out to help me stuck in the snow, now I'll have to start walking to find help!!"

Ivan, her legs look really cold. I should help warm her up a bit! :D

You know, I'm listening to ZZ Top right now. Sure, the song isn't "Legs" but close enough! She's got legs...and she knows how to use them.
