Charlottetown police cars voted best looking in Canada (The Guardian) Charlottetown Police Department’s cruisers have been recognized nationally as the best-looking police cars in the country. The Blue Line Magazine, a national police magazine, has selected Charlottetown’s police vehicles as Canada’s Best Dressed Police Cars for 2010. “We are extremely pleased that our efforts in rebranding our police service have not gone unnoticed not only by Charlottetown residents — but now by a national police magazine,” said Deputy Chief Gary McGuigan. “There was a lot of work went into the design, it’s fresh and contemporary and carries our new police logo which defines our commitment and a new approach to community policing. “The word “our” is used in the logo and speaks to teamwork with the community to solve problems. We realize we do need input and partnerships with the community to make Charlottetown a safe and healthy place to live.” The cruisers, which have “Charlottetown Police Services, Our community. Our City. Our responsibility” emblazoned in blue on the side, were locally designed as part of the Police Department’s rebranding following recommendations made in last year’s comprehensive review of the Department by Verheul and Associates. Mayor Clifford Lee said the new cars show the police service’s commitment to raising its public profile. “Clearly, this recognition is great news for the Police Department here in Charlottetown. The report on the police department recognized that there was a need for the department to become more professional, in appearance as well,” Lee said. “This was just one of the many important changes made in the police department in the last number of months. Early in the New Year, we’ll be releasing more information on the positive changes that have been made in the force.” ![]() This place is just down the road from where I live, about 45 minutes away. |

Very nice looking squad car! But does anyone care how good it looks when it pulls you over?
