I have several cars from JL that is clearly mis-labeled... The other Dukes series I have is Uncle Jessie's pick-up... It's a Chevy and on the show it was a Ford... This box says "67 Mustang", it's clearly a 65 or 66 !!!

Support your local demo derby.

It's a cop out that many diecast brands use over the years to avoid creating entirely new castings to fit in a single licensed line. In short terms, this route is much cheaper for JL than to come up with the correct cars/trucks. This has been a gigantic complaint from JL fans concerning the DOH series since the 1st release.

Should be noted though that JL is suppose to issue a new 'B-body 78 Dodge Monaco this year to replace the incorrect full size Monaco they've used since way back in the DOH line.

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
JL isn't the only guilty party- Mathbox's 'Star Cars' line was another big offender. I mean for "Taxi" they used a Ford LTD!

In simplistic terms; you can just buy the casting for the real year, make, and model and completely forget about the DOH theme.
That's my approach to some of these castings that aren't what they are suppose to be on the packaging.
The bad part is having to pay a premium price for an imposter.
I have never been overly enthused about the whole Dukes Of Hazzard diecast series since it came out.
I bought many of the castings for the vehicle and not the connection to DOH.
And with the General Lee, some of the themes were questionable.
Remember the version with the "bird poop" ot atleast that is what it looked like.

Cheers. Cobra

On the flip side, I love the Dukes cars! Now they could have used the '66 Mustang seen here as the car that brought Bo & Luke back to Hazzard (and conversely took Coy & Vance away, never to be seen again!). It was yellow, with what looked to be simulated wood side panels where the side scallops are!
