well today i was on ebay and ive been after a project car to work on for a good few months as i think its a very good way to spend my spare time.
any way on ebay today i spotted a 2.8 ghia ford granada mk2 which is one of my absolute favourite cars ever! so i put a bid on it and won it :D . it is metallic grey in colour.
i like the fact its an early facelift car on an x registration.
i will post some pictures asap as we should be collecting it sunday so i will put some up then

looking forward to making a start on restoring it to its former glory ;)

Support your local demo derby.

Congrats on the buy Harlan. I did a quick search on google, the Ghia looks pretty good considering the time period. We need to see lots of pics!

Beautiful car, Harlan!

With an automatic? That's not common, is it?

Beautiful car, Harlan!

With an automatic? That's not common, is it?
it is and it isnt.

over here most of our cars are manual and alot of modern cars are.
but on these particular cars there seems to be alot more automatic ones around than manual ones.
on alot of the older pre 85 cars particuly higher end/top of the range cars it seems like it was a luxury to have an automatic gear box.
on the mk1 granadas they even had a little badge on the boot stating that it was automatic.

im thinking of getting an ixo 1/43 mk2 granada and have it painted up like mine to go on the dash board
and a hot wheels 1/25 scale one sprayed up as mine to go on the rear parcel shelf or do these ideas seem abit stupid? im not really sure.
i have seen some other cars with this done
