Best known for their Fire Engines mostly pre-WWII, the Hot Wheels "Old Number 5" and the reworked "Old Number 5.5" are based on an Ahrens Fox Fire Engine from 1925. |

I do stand corrected, it is a 1925 Ahrens Fox pumper that the HW Old Number 5 and subsequent issues are patterned after. |

I fixed that in the first post. I always liked the Old Number 5 but have never seen a real Ahrens Fox fire truck.
