The Mustang II is a Mustang too!

![]() Today's car of the day is CF's 1980 Audi 5000 Turbo. ![]()
![]() For more information and pictures of the real car please visit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audi_100 ![]() This one is a copy of the Tomica casting, and is labeled as a 5000, but from what I can tell it appears to be a 200. Perhaps Sak can shed some light on this one? CF changed a few things from the Tomica models they copied, most notable being the license plates labeled CF001 through CF006 for the six models they made. Some examples were also given rubber wheels and a pullback chassis. Plus they were available in the USA at a period after Tomica had withdrawn from the market. ![]()
![]() As for the quality of the casting itself, this is one of the better Tomica copies on the market- the opening features were retained, albeit the car has cheaper wheels and much lower quality fit and finish.

They only made 6 models? That must be one of the smallest die-cast ranges ever! They have a very Yatming-ish look to them, which I guess is due to the wheels and the fact that Yatming also copied many Tomica castings. I'd say this one is an Audi 200 as well. CF also appears to have the car into a coupe. The Tomica version has 5 doors, and you can clearly see on this one there are no rear door shut lines or handles. To my knowledge, Audi never produced a coupe version of the 200. |

The Wikipedia article mentions some two door sedans were made but that they weren't very popular. Unfortunately I don't have the Tomica version in my collection, but I found this image of one by searching Google: http://www.gasolinealleyantiques.com/diecast/images/tomica/f32audi.JPG Which shows four doors all right! |

I'm sorry ![]() I'm not familiar at all with the brand...and I'm sure this must've been a four door. The Dinky 1961 Ford Fairlane, in the Dinky Mainline back in 1962, was the four door model, WITHOUT rear door cutouts. I thought that this model indicated the manufacturer's swift decline back in the early 1960s. It looks as wrong as this model does. Otherwise, I find this one worthy of inclusion. Nice grille! |

According to what was written and published in the "Encyclopedia" ( by Kimmo et al), CF is not a manufacturer per se, However, he does recognize that the initials may represent the maker. But he states there were 8 knockoff models that were copied from Tomica, not 6! But little else is known about his producer. |
