Agree with the bowtie guy, i need this for my collection just as badly. These never showed up anywhere around my area and check out the # made, only 2500. These fetched high prices when they were first released and made their way to the bay and OLDs. This is by far the most realistic version of the roundback wagon they've made.

I think this is one that I never saw during the blitz on these wagons where they all got snagged over night. I can see why people liked them. One of LC's little gems that sneaked in under the line of confusion about quality and where they were going to take the line.

This is the really lousy thing about their limited numbers. I've ended up waiting on some of the nicer cars, only to find after pre-orders, OLDs have had little or nothing left to sell as singles when they first came out. And next to nothing hit the stores in most areas. But if they still have some of these cars in the warehouses that are hitting some areas now...it just doesn't make sense. I was under the impression that if the OLDs ordered up the stock, there was pretty much nothing left to distribute to retail, hence the reason only a handful of retail stores were able to get stock...when they were available at all. And considering there was only a handfull of months out of any given year that they resolved retail issues long enough to get product into stores at all, divided by the square root of production numbers vs. pie, multiplied by the velocity of rumors spit into the wind...heaven help us all, for the apocalyptic repercussions of such a formula might explode the heads of every living human, thus making LC responsible for genocide by diecast infusion. Out damn spotted diecast, out...for thou maketh my brain acheth :duh:

A Thespian and a mathematician with a Shakespearean touch.
A most enjoyable read.
Thank you for your creativity.
Will this be the "quote of the year" here at Swifty's Garage?

Cheers. Cobra

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
The latest batch of JL's at BIG LOTS! is a most recent example of DS's unusual and humorous opinions. Where were all these cars the last year or two? I've never even SEEN them until now, but I've seen PLENTY of empty JL pegs in stores and people/dealers saying they can only get/find JL's that are available!!
So now the aching feeling is, how many OTHER JL's are in storage that don't exist? Obviously from that Caprice wagon, there are many cars we'd like to have, but where is the inventory? When will someone be able to sell them? When will another supply be "found?" How will we know where to buy them?

Thank God that we have people sticking together here that passes on information---apparently Dragnet_Supporter tipped us off back in December about BIG LOTS! and Ernest Hughes pictured many he found, so I was able to get the cars I wanted after reading it.

CONGRATS to JustDavid for 2000 postings, and nice new signature photo.

Hot stuff
This release (Wicked Wagons 4)was spotted at my local KMart yesterday. Unfortunately, at the cost of 5.25 I won't even be picking up the JLTalk Zingers! Don't know if they hit anywhere else, that's the only KMart in my area that still sells more than HWs.

Bray, other than Milezone and a couple other online or e-bay sellers; I don't think that this casting made it into too many retail stores.
I certainly never saw it in any Walmart store here in Canada.

Remember this one:

The above is another example of a casting that never made it into many retail stores.
Milezone sold it until he was cleaned out in about 24 hours or maybe even less.

It's truly sad that we never got to see or buy these castings in a local store after they came out.
Obviously, they were sitting in some warehouse somewhere for a long time.

And you wonder why, many of us were and are frustrated.

BYW, at $5.25 per unit; I would still buy it.

Cheers. Cobra

Bray, I do have both of these castings as shown above.
But they did end up costing we more than $5.25 each when the entered my house.
$5.25 eachwould have been a bargain.

I need both of those great castings, and the last JL's I bought were at $5.99. (They were not the plastic based ones, but 2 older castings.)
