Well this week is almost over and things are a bit better, He had a permanent drain put in from his bladder, and we will know in a wek or 2 if the radiation will restore any bowel function, They did manage to encourage him in that manner so all teh waste poisons are being removed from his system. If he continues to progress, they are allowing him to attend something he really wanted to do, the anime convention this weekend in Halifax. |

Well we got to attend teh Anime convention, he got dressed up (Cosplay) as Pikachu from teh Pokemon show, We took in 2 hours of the picnic on Saturday and 3 hours of teh convention on Sunday, he then was tired and wanted to go back to the hospital. Our 2 daughters and the oldest ones boyfriend attended also. It was a family affair. Chris went wild at all teh stuff for sale and spent quite a bit of money but he had a real good time. The Radiation while helping with teh pain in his back did not restore any function below the chest area, he continues to void his bladder out thru a tube, and that is working great. Pills and supositories help withthe other waste function. We are working with our local hospital to get him transferred back here to PEI. ALthough it is totally Chris' decision if he wants to come home. He will never actually come to our house again unless it is just to visit. It will be hard to get him in thru the door now, as our wheel chair ramp is too steep and teh door is real tight in his new wider wheelchair. His mind and personality although some what dulled sometimes by teh Morphine is still sharp as a tack, and he can beat me at any mind games he wants to play. It has been almost 3 months since we were told his condition is terminal, He is getting help with the emotional issues as well as all teh physical challenges his condition includes. Today Mom and Chris got a day pass and went to an IMAX to see How to train your Dragon in 3D IMAX. They had a good time. I am going to see them this SUnday for Mother's Day. all for now |

Thank You, it has been a long and a short 4 1/2 years since he first fought the beast, Now we live day to day, one day at a time. we find joy and happiness in simple things, a good story, a silly song, good popcorn, a funny TV show..... no body knows when they will be called home, we just know it is soon for Chris. We are trying real hard to be ready,

Chris came home from Halifax to our local hospital on Tues. And is resting here comfortably. Billy Bridges was by today to see him, Billy is an Olympic Gold Medalist in Sledge Hockey, he brought his olympic medal with him. Billy is from PEI. And the School band held a fund raiser for Chris yesterday, and raised a lot of money for us in caring for Chris. The Fundraiser was called CCR 4 CRP. They did a great job. Today Chris finally relented and allowed them to crane him into a wheelchair, and him and his mother went out to see the new Shrek movie. So far he is doing OK, in a lot of pain and takes a great deal of painkillers but doing OK. It has been almost 3 1/2 months since we got the diagnosis that they could do nothing more for him. |

Oh I forgot he has gotten some movement back, he can wiggle the toes on his right foot and has slight foot motion also. Don't know if he will get any more, but we celebrate the small victories. |

Thursday night at 1 am Chris slipped into unconsciousness, after having a feed of pancakes at 10pm, he drifted in and out of this state all day, mostly out, sometimes opening his eyes for a few seconds. Last nite at 7:30 he wakes up and asks what time is it, order Garlic Fingers from greco pizza, a medium slushie with 6 sour zaps from Jumbo video, and to get his lap top on line ASAP, as some one is selling some thing at neopets and he wanted to buy it as it was a really great price (paid in neopoints of coarse) Talk about a roller coaster day, The medical people here at PCH had told us it was the beginning of the end, and he probably would not wake up enough to ackowledge, that his organs would begin to shut down, what he does here continually amazes them, his stamina, his resiliance, his appetite That being said, his pain has sky rockeded, hey put him a morphine pump into his IV port today, he can push the button every 10 minutes, and he still has a pain relief patch, as well as other drugs if he can swallow, which obviously he can as he scarfed down those garlic fingers faster then I could. Thank You for all the kind comments, and your continued support and prayers. James |

Chris is fading fast, he is unconscious 99% of the time now, and comes too too ask for his mom. His internals are starting to shut down, we don't expect him him to last too much longer. |
