Found tonight! 35 of the 36 cars were still there leading me to believe a WL or LS Shelby is now in someone's hands, locally. As for me, this is the first release since Batch B of 40th that has moved me to pick up the entire release.
Believe it Sean, not likely someone bought 1 reg car.Glad you found them anyway ;)

Me too- believe it or not had there been a WL I'd have left it hanging. I had all of $26 on me- and the 12 regulars cost $25.40 with tax and this is one of the nicest sets JL has done in the 40th/Forever 64 line. I couldn't find one car in the release I didn't like. I know JL has taken some hits lately for this line, but this particular release was outstanding.

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
Well, if they're smart, they'll ship at least one more restock, and give everyone a chance.
I saw Nevada on the map by Woloman, so maybe they will show up here. Haven't seen them in 3 WM's I checked so far.

Wal Mart in VA hit last weekend. I hit about 15 different stores and got 4 goodies. I don't normally collect the forever line but as mentioned this release seems a bit nicer than previous runs so I picked up a few choice regulars too.

Those colored tires just don't do nothing for me at all... I left 3 on the little pegs in the little box display... I never cared for the White Lightnings either... Out of about 2,600 Johnnys in my collection, I have not 1 WL... I take that back, I have one and I paid about 25 bucks for it, but only because I liked the pearl white paint job on the car...

If you guys are finding them for keepers, I'm really very happy for ya... Next time I see any, I'll grab them for yas !!!
Congratulations to all !!!

Like I said these can't just be exclusive to Wal-Marts, I've had lots of these cars for months. All from a local Collectibles store. So they aren't just going to Wal-Mart, but to dealers as well.

Support your local demo derby.

Sounds like somewhere along the way, that LC/RC2 has a leak in their distribution chain. Good to see you back on the Garage Jeep. Forgive me, but you are Ryan correct? I should know your name , talked to you on chat over on HT multiple times some time ago, 'slaps self.'

Yep thats my name, still lightly collecting. 2009 was a difficult year for me so I tried to stay busy with work as much as I could. Working two jobs doesn't leave a lot of room for internet forums.

That's fully understandable Ryan. What collectors store did you find the 'WM Exclusives' at if you don't mind sharing that info?

Welcome back, and very interesting- this whole release was supposed to be a Walmart exclusive. I'd love to know how he got ahold of these!

I have heard several people say that they bought the whole shipper from their local Walmart. It is entirely possible your local hobby store owner did the same thing, and is marking up the price a bit.

The Brass Armadillo. A booth in there has nothing but Ertl and RC2 toys and trust me he has hundreds of JL's. Older ones, 40th and Forever 64. Doubt very much he pulled HUNDREDS from Wal-Mart shippers. It is clear he has a deal with Ertl and RC2. He's actually spot on with the pricing of the Ertl/RC2 outlet store in Dyersville as well. hmmmm?

I mean is anything really that exclusive to Wal-Mart except the smell of the restrooms?

:1:

That's another reason why I like Target...it has that potpourri-like smell.

They showed up in the Las Vegas area around the 15th of March, at two stores I always check. I got all the sensible ones, in my opinion. Motors with blowers and no hood are not in the category.

The Brass Armadillo.
I actually know where that is...we drove by it back in '08 on our way to South Dakota. I wanted to stop but couldn't figure out how to get there. On the way back we went a different way. But glad to hear you scored big.

In Phoenix we also have a BA. It's about 45 minutes away...I go every few months or so and usually find something to bring home with me.

Yeah the BA is a great place to spend a couple of rainy hours or even a couple hundred dollars.
