The car for today is the 1962 Shelby Cobra CSX2000 by Shelby Collectibles.

Shelby Cobra serial number CSX2000 was the first Cobra built by Shelby American. Although similar in appearance to the British AC Ace upon which it was based, the Cobra had numerous modifications, which enabled it to handle the increased power and weight of the Ford V-8 engine. Tested in England by Derek Hurlock and Carroll Shelby, CSX2000 was shipped to the Santa Fe Springs, California shop of noted speed equipment manufacturer Dean Moon for final assembly.

This true 1/64 scale model is yet another gem from Shelby Collectibles. Featuring rubber tires, jeweled headlights and opening doors, it's the best representation of the first model year of Cobras by Shelby. Details galore!

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
I've seen a few new ones by Shelby Collectibles, and I like the way they trickle in a new casting now and then. I usually fall victim to at least one of each. Good stuff.
