I figured it was time to post pics of my salvage yard. It's been a work in progress and two more cars were brought in today...dead Maisto Jeep Liberty and a dead Ertl GM Pickup.

Cute!

I've always been tempted to make one myself, but can't get myself to do stuff like that to my cars.

My "salvage yard" would be a showroom.

If you'd like to, Jermaine, you can get started with this from items you'd find at your flea market...and for very, very little cash.

Looking good, David! :1:

Thanks Friends :)

The Pinto was a FC that I *tweaked* a bit.

I wish I could expand it, but I don't have any more room. :(

The fence idea was stolen from Swifty's SY with some changes.

So, you build UP :)

The same reason the ancients began putting multiple stories on buildings. My local salvage yard has like four or five junkers piled high...I don't like going in there because with my luck, it'll all fall on me.

Yeah, NJ salvage yards are notorious for small parcels of land with a large inventory of clunkers. High turnover rates, too. Normally worse in North Jersey, but apparently Central Jersey is the same.

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
OUCH!! I was looking for a Maisto Jeep Liberty a year ago for a custom gift project and didn't get one.
You have some expensive looking clunkers in Mesa......I think I even see an Australian GTO in there?
Great job, David, and you still have room to clutter it up quite a bit more. That's a fun project. I enjoyed looking through your rows of cars.

When are you going to do one? ;)

Swifty, about 5 years ago (or maybe longer), Sgt.Ivan of the Military Police cruising one of the restricted areas out here in Nevada, found a desert "junk yard" of autos with no clue as to why they where there. I took some photos, and these were released as "Non-security" and not Classified, and were posted at one of the threads at the Hot Wheels Collectors .com site. I'll try to locate them and post them here. Give me some time...

Count me in as wanting to see those pics too Ivan. What a cool find out in the middle of the desert.

Oh, man this is a chore, I know I have them somewhere on a Hotwheels or custom disk, I just gotta find it. It'll be nothing special compared to what Justdavid did here, but at least I did a yard that was used on a site at one time----ancient history, perhaps...

Than it's time to do another one! ;)

As a customizer myself, I'm sure you have your fair share of parts donors & cars laying around that could be put to such an endeavor...

HEY GUYS, I found them! There were only three shots, one being taken from above and you couldn't see much detail. These are the other 2.
Geez, time flies, I was looking for the pix around 2005, and these were taken in 2003! I used them for a posting at HWC.com, where most contributors didn't do anything with their cars except keep them in BP's, so this was sort of a shock to them--a junkyard of castings and pieces. I said I had "stumbled" upon it on one of my desert "patrols." :D

I do see how this could be a seismic shock to people on other boards! Great 'old school' pics Ivan.
