I've never been a big fan, or had much in the way of "big" stuff... but i have been picking up some of these JL 1/24 vehicles, and a handful of other models on clearance. One of these days, I 'll create some "big scale" territory, but this set-up will have to do for now:![]() Plymouth Duster ![]() Shelby GT 500 ![]() Dodge Charger R/T |

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!

I rarely pick up larger scales myself (I barely have room for all my 1/64s!) but I admit, some of these larger JLs have tempted me as well. I haven't seen these examples in particular, but I love the color on the Duster. And I bet Celica Baby will love that Charger! |

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!

It's been happening to me lately, as well. I always glance through all diecasts at the stores, but now I find myself "digging" through the 1/24 sizes just to see what they are making. I'm glad all these weren't around when building kits were a big part of my hobby, as I'd be buying these to customize. Dioecast makers are doing cars I know that plastic kit makers would have never touched! For the prices, the 1/24 are a bargain, some really good ones being between $10-15 and even at higher prices, they beat many plastic kit prices and save you assembly and painting time and costs. I personally prefer the kits so I can create my own details and specs, but when I see a Duster that looks like the one I drove and can just plunk it on the shelf? I can sit back and smile at it instead of wondering when I will finish it. I've been a sucker for (1) cars that I drove, (2) Saleen S7's, (3) VW mini-bus, (4) cop cars. The recent $9.95 Motormax 2007 Crown Vic Police Interceptor at WalMart is an example of why I've GOT to look through these stacks of cars each time! |

Always great pics! I appreciate the larger scale but I will stick to the smaller stuff. |
