The Jaguar XK series (XK8 and XKR) is a grand tourer produced by British car maker Jaguar since 1996. The car was introduced in Geneva Motor Show on 5 March 1996. It is the replacement of the XJS, and is available as a coupé and convertible. Currently in its second generation, the XK8 was the first 8 cylinder vehicle produced by Jaguar, when the Jaguar AJ-V8 engine was introduced.

This true 1/64 scale model is impressive with separate headlight inserts, treaded rubber like tires and correct rims. The Malibu name was used and sold exclusively at Wal-Mart for a relatively short time. The casting is actually from High Speed.

So the High Speed Jaguar X-Type that I featured as COTD wasn't available in the states? I'm going to say the same thing about this XK - it was never available in the UK. In fact, quite a few of the castings from the Malibu range weren't available in the UK like the Ford Focus Cabriolet and Land-Rover Discovery which I only managed to aqquire thanks to members on this forum.

Anyway though, it's a lovely model. The Matchbox version is nice, but this is definately better.
