The Hot Wheels' 1971 Dodge Charger R/T is the car for today.

Wikipedia.com

The Dodge Charger is an American automobile manufactured by Chrysler, under the Dodge brand name. There have been several different Dodge vehicles, on three different platforms, bearing the Charger nameplate. The name is generally associated with a performance model in the Dodge range; however, it has also adorned a hatchback, a sedan, and a personal luxury coupe. The name was also carried by a 1999 concept car that differed substantially from the Charger eventually placed into production for the 2006 model year.

1971 brought a restyled Charger with a Pontiac-like grille and high beltline. Styling covered a two inch shorter wheelbase and three inch shorter length (see stats).

The six Dodge Charger models in 1971 included a base, hardtop, 500, SE, R/T, and Super Bee, a Road Runner imitation which became Dodge's street racer. It replaced the Coronet Super Bee with a standard 300HP 383 and floor mounted 3 speed manual. Optional engines were the 440 six pack and the 426 hemi.

The top of the line was the Charger R/T with its standard 440 Magnum V8 rated at 370 HP. Optional were the 440 six pack and 426 hemi. The R/T used the same hood and tape side treatment as the Super Bee, but two additional stripes on each door simulated vents.

1971 was the last full performance Charger, though the Charger 340 would remain with quite respectable performance.

This is another new for 2010 HWs casting. Score points to HWs for same size wheels on all four corners and a realistic paint scheme. Quite nice for a dollar.

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
For a buck, this is a great addition for the Mopar side like Crafty says. Not bad, lots of interesting customs possibilities.

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
One of the better new castings from Hot Wheels. I love it when they give us nice, stock, muscle cars.

Microcar
The chrome int. drags this casting down badly, having said that, this is my favorite 2010 HW casting.
I like the color.

I had a 71 318 powered hardtop (bronze/bronze int./white vinyl half top), That was a great car, bought from my older brother in '88, sold to my little brother in '92, that car was in our family for like 15 years. I'll buy every variation.

This car is awaiting customization to replicate my old 1:1 ride. I can't wait. Not sure what I'll do about the power bulge hood though.

Hope they ditch that chrome interior though.

I just found one of these at the TRU in Burlington. I think I'm gonna do the interior, in black.
