The Van for today is Greenlight's 1965 era VW Samba.

Wikipedia.com

The term Samba in VW circles refers to a specific model of the Type 2 bus which was manufactured with the highest trim level available. A Samba is a Standard microbus with the addition of trim strips along the beltline, dash clock, etc. Another distinguishing feature is the appearance of small skylight windows embedded into the vehicle roof. Samba buses began production in 1951 and were all fitted with a large Golde sunroof as standard.

Diecast collectors just love VW's, especially the buses, Kombis, vans, etc., and this is a very nice one worth having. The stance looks good, the wheels look nice, and overall, it just looks like a VW bus. It's become one of my favorites among all the VW buses.

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
That is a nice one, and it should be noted this is a High Speed casting rebranded as a GreenLight. Like regular GreenLights this is also true 1/64 scale.

I've ALWAYS loved the 'buses.

They were a very, very common sight on the streets back in the day. Looking back, it took a very, very big heart to both love AND OWN one of these...a painfully top speed of 55 miles per hour, along with those pesky warped clutch plates that bedeviled you, and the godawful rust made it a labour of love. But have you ever seen character like this?

I'm actually surprised no one got the connection between posting the VW samba and the date it was posted for . . .
