It's a bug on steroids! The rear pillar on that looks chunky to say the least. Almost appears as if they chopped the roof off some other small Japanese origin compact and welded it onto the old Beetle body. That's a not good thing. |

"it will be focused more on driving dynamics than on efforts to resurrect the past" I wonder if all my "who cares how it looks it just have to drive good" friends will change their minds?

*Gags* Well, the Plymouth Pronto Cruiser finally made it to production....via Volkswagen. I woud not have predicted this. |

Man, why don't they just let the Beetle die already? It's barely adequate with the six-speed, and the automatic makes it go like a 6hp Briggs & Stratton lawn mower engine, it's panels have the texture of cardboard, and the cool factor is roughly equal to that of Steve Urkel's Isetta! |

With the exception of when I (rarely) pass a VW dealership, I have no idea when I last saw one on the road. They were trendy for all of about two years where you couldn't go down the street without seeing five of them, but these days? I saw a classic Beetle today but no sign of the current one! I agree, let it die and give us the Scirocco instead! So what if it competes against the GTI, it will sell well here! |

Hey, they sold the OLD Scirocco next to the GTI, right? The Scirocco would make some lovely waves here. I say, bring it over...and bury die neue kafer, once and for all. |

So I made it a point to keep track of how many New Beetles I saw over the weekend. All of two. Considering there was a point in time when I couldn't go down the road without seeing one, that's pretty sad. Then again, I can say the same thing about last generation Celicas- the only ones I see these days belong to people I know! |

I saw three over the weekend. Used to be you couldn't blink without getting hit by one of those little suckers. Need a giant fly swatter! |
