Inspired by the car of the day discussion, I am posting some archived photos of more Kinsmart castings. Scales are approximate, and I am going on memory, so if someone sees an error, please correct my memory. Most started life as keychains, and all are pull-back motorized. Most, if not all, have been available in multiple colors. Enjoy!

1993 Chevrolet Caprice police - CHP (in 1:87 scale)

1940 Ford Woodie (approx 1:72)
Posted Image

1965 Ford Mustang (1:72)
Posted Image

2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring Edition (yes the tampos on the liftgate actually show it to be a "Touring Edition") (1:72)
Posted Image

Hummer H-1 (between 1:64 and 1:72)
Posted Image

Ford Ka (1:60-ish)
Posted Image

Toyota Yaris (1:58-ish)
Posted Image

Volkswagen Microbus (unlicensed - no emblems) (about 1:64)
Posted Image

hippie van without the surfboards
Posted Image

VW Beetle (1:64)
Posted Image

VW New Beetle (unlicensed) (1:64)
Posted Image

And finally, Kinsmart got licensing and issued the New Beetle in several new colors, with proper badging and wheels

There are other castings I don't yet have pictures of; from memory, I know of a 1:87 1995 Dodge Ram, the 1:72 Dodge Viper (car of the day), and a 1:60 first generation Toyota RAV-4 Convertible. If anyone can add pictures, please do!

Can't say as I'm too keen on these Kinsmart models, however, I do have one in my collection which is a Lincoln Towncar limousine. I'd put it at between 1:55-1:60, and it's very well detailed and proportioned compared to their other offerings. I'll try and post some pics soon.

That's not a 1940 Ford...

It's a 1949.

The Lincoln's nice...but I wish it were closer to 1:64. That would've been marvelous.

Nice collection you have there, Dean-o. Thanks for sharing the pics with us.
I think some of the Kinsmart castings are great, especially the Lamborghini and VW castings.
I don't understand (or question) why collectors shun these wonderful pieces. Is it because
they're usually sold loose or is it the pullback feature? Oh well, to each his/her own.

Here are a few of my VW Beetles w/non-opening trunk. I also have the set with solid colors
and opening trunks. Fantastic pieces for the price!

I've got the circa-2000 Town Car limo, in two colors I believe, but I was thinking mine were branded as Kintoy. Is there a difference? Or am I confusing them with some Cadillac limos which might be the Kintoys? ?? (I hate being away from my collection...)

I promise that I knew this was not a 1940!! I think I was trying to type 1950, which appears to still be a year off. Thank you for the correction!

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
VERY INTERESTING!!! Most of the Kinsmart stuff I've seen (and bought a few) are larger, like 1/43 or even 1/32 size. I find them at a Kroger supermarket division out here in the far west called Smith's Foodcenters, or a freeway travel store.
They always have opening doors, separate headlight or taillight parts, and a pull back motor. The 1/72 cars as key chains were new to me after I posted the Viper at CotD.
That 1950 Ford woodie is HOT.
I got the red VW beetle for only a buck when Walgreen's was selling Kinsmart and reduced all the prices. At the same time, I also got a Scion Xb/Toyota bB and a Ford airport shuttle van.

Funny how the timing worked out, but earlier today, I was (unsuccessully) looking for Cherry Sours candies as a joke for a buddy of mine. My search brought me to a Valero gas station which had some Kinsmart keychains. They only had the PT Cruiser, in six different colors, and the 1957 Ford T-Bird in three colors. I added four PT Cruisers to my collection. In addition to the white, which I have pictured above, I know have burgundy, green, blue, and silver. The sixth color was black, but the store's example had a broken base. At $3.25 each, I probably spent more than I should have, but I think these are fun toys.

By the way, if anyone is keeping track, I underestimated the scale. The PT's listed scale is 1:68. The store still has two white PTs, and one each of the other colors, minus the broken black one. If anyone wants to spend the money on these, or the TBird, in white, red, or yellow, let me know.

Does anyone have the Kinsmart 1/72 1964 1/2 Mustang in white (as pictured above) that they would like to sell. I have easily found the car in other colors for $3 but am having trouble finding the white one. I have one but would like another to give my brother as we shared this car in high school.
