Normally there should be some sort of number plate on the roof and the number visible (in a contrasting color) on the doors. Zach should be able to clarify that further though!

Swifty is correct. Most promoters require a large door number in a contrasting color to the rest of the body. Some also now ask for roof signs as well. Drivers try to exploit this rule by mounting the sign using angle iron. The angle iron helps strengthen the roof, this is highly effective when placed on the rear section of wagon roofs and acts as a kicker. So some mount them over the front seats and others behind the roll over bar if they have one.

Dual roof signs on Mr. Fabulous Ray Fergurson's Buick Rivy from this year's Spring Explosion in Georgetown.

Great pics! I thought the off color drivers door was mandatory as well for a safety reason as in the last pic. But not all of them have it, look at #19. Maybe thats a local rule? An "avoid hitting here area". Protect the driver.

The first two pics were from the team show so the cars were just painted one solid color. If drivers don't have contrasting colors, then promoters usually tell them not to complain much about driver door hits then. All the derbies I go to are essentially full weld deals that allow the door and trunk lid seams to be welded solid. The drivers doors are also reinforced typically with a drivers cage and are allowed to stuff the door with extra steel or exterior sheet metal.

How's the progress going? Mine has the base removed and some body mods done. Still need to strip the paint and do the rest of it though.

Mine hasnt started yet. I'll get on it this weekend. I just dont have the time to play lately. Been doing the Ford and a dozen display cases came in the mail yesterday. I need to start on a couple of those this weekend also. Work has been unreal busy and unreal hot at the same time. 92 degrees just sitting at the desk. I'm sort of beat when I get home. I'll get on it. This Ford aint coming out too bad (?)
