My 1:64 Le Mans Collection - 78th Running this weekend!

I recently shared my 1:64 Winning Indy Cars in honor of the Indianapolis 500. Now just two weeks later, it’s time to post another segment of my collection...LE MANS endurance replicas.

This coming weekend will see the 78th running of what many believe to be the greatest automotive race on the planet, the 2010 24 Hours of Le Mans ( 24 Heures du Mans). I can’t make it to the Circuit de la Sarthe this weekend, but you can believe that I will be glued to my monitors for the duration. I have no idea how someone from the southern United States became so infatuated with endurance sports car racing, but it runs deep in my blood.

I do not normally keep my Le Mans cars separated, but in honor of the event I thought it would be fun to display them as a group. Of the many racing sports cars in my collection, I was surprised that I had so few castings of Le Mans cars. I have many more that also raced in the French classic, but are not shown in the correct livery, so those did not make this photo.

If you have more 1:64 castings to add, please do so. I know there are many, many more castings out there, but this will get us started. See below the photo for the listing of the cars, thanks for looking!

Support your local demo derby.

Awesome group shot Ward! Only ones in my collection are from the entire first row and part of the 2nd, the rest I'd never seen before. The Jaguar in row 4 must have been from the 80s going by the design cues.

Thanks Crafty, yep row four was indeed late 80's (88 through 94) so good eye.

Duh, you have the years listed! Didn't even pay attention to that. Must be a senior moment from a person in his mid 20s. Ugh. Just noticed the '97 Saleen Mustang from JL as well. That's as good looking as that casting ever looked.

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
Nice collection- the benefit of being able to focus on one aspect instead of trying to chase a little bit of everything!

The only downside is that unlike 1/43, there aren't enough from any one era to make a convincing grid of starters. That said, considering how new a lot of those castings are, it looks like that's already starting to change.

Agreed. it is hard to build a grid, something that is a huge part of the 1:43 segment.

I collect all forms of road racing / endurance / sports cars, but I had them all mixed together, so it was fun to just pull out the Le Mans castings for this shot.

Thanks for the looks guys!
