'Wedged Vic'![]() ![]() ![]() Started out as a Matchbox 1996 Ford Crown Vic. The windows and stock wheels were removed. JL wheels from a Corvette were installed up front and a generic 'Ford 9' rear axle was installed. Exhaust headers are constructed out of florist wire and some welding wire from Bob 8748. A 4 point cage and roll over bar were constructed from 1/16" aluminum tubing. Both are painted. Used a cutting disk with a dremel to remove a small chunk of the area where the front axle sits and glued in the JL axle in place. The rear end was lowered by using a small strip of florist wire under the current axle setup. This causes the car to have a lowered rear end in appearance. Was trying to give it the look that '80 and newer Fords have when the front end is tilted by cutting the tabs on the crush boxes, lowering the frame about 1" or 2", and then welding it back up. The stock trunk and rear fenders were removed via a dremel w/cutting disk. Some sheet metal from Bob8748 and aluminum foil was used to construct a new 'wedged' trunk. The rear window bars and the cowl bar are both florist wire as well. The doors on the car have been smashed in and the 'inner' and 'outer' sheet metal has been 'welded' together. I just used a dremel tool with a drill bit to drill out the top of the doors to create this effect. Painted with a base black coat and then used a sublime green like color for the sides of the car. While the top portion was taped off, I flipped the car upside down and painted the interior and the inside of the window bars. The over spray was an unintended effect but it looked too nice to redo. |
