Summer always brings a slow period to our little community, but I am doing my part to keep things alive and interesting...yes, I am out spending money! I found this jewel on Ebay, even purchasing the car from an Aston Martin auto dealer. I was so pleased to receive it this weekend and wanted to share it with you guys. This is the iconic #007 Gulf Oil sponsored AMR entry for the 2009 24 Hours of Le Mans. This Lola Aston Martin DBR1-2 (chassie B0960-HU02) was driven from 8th off the grid to a 4th place finish by Stefan Mucke, Tomas Enge and Jan Charouz. This was quite a feat in that this was the highest finishing petrol entry. This same car also won the Catalunya 1000 and posted a third at Spa the same year. This 1:64 scale casting is produced by Norev for Aston Martin. I was so pleased to add another LMP-1 car to my small scale collection, so this was a real "find" for me. I might have gone a little overboard on the photos! Again, thanks for the look as always. Ward ![]() Notice the very simple, clean packaging...very classy! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And now, a few laps around the track to make sure no damage done in transit!

Awesome score Ward. Didn't realize Norev did items in true 1/64. The dio pic is nothing short of awesome! |

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!

That is gorgeous! It's probably closer to 1/55 (all of the dealer models should be) but yes, they did do some true 1/64 pieces too. The Chrysler Crossfire and 300C are among them. |

Thanks guys, the scale for Norev is usually 1:55 as Swifty pointed out, but this one is a touch smaller. I don't collect this brand as the scale tends to bother me and not blend with other brands very well (just me I guess). I would say this was bewteen 1:64 and 1:60. But I do love this casting!!! Bring on more Lola's! |
