CHEVROLET (US) 1912- PRESENT

This company was founded by W.C. Durant and Louis Chevrolet ; a race car driver. Originally the cars used the brand name of Little , but by 1913 the name had been officially changed to Chevrolet . In 1917 the company was purchased and became a division of General Motors Corporation (GM). This Division now exists as the best selling section of the existing GM structure. This marquee has also been represented with race cars in the NASCAR stockcar circuit for many decades.
In 1953 , following a strong reception from the traveling GM Motorama Concept Car Show, the Corvette was entered into production and is a prominent sports car at present in the US.
In 1960 Chevrolet introduced the controversial rear engine Corvair. This was the first mass produced rear engine air cooled car in modern times to be produced in the US . Some negative opinions were versed over the years that this car was unsafe . After a second design generation was issued, this line ceased production in 1969 .
In 1967 Chevrolet introduced a line to compete with the newly introduced Ford Mustang. A sister car to this new sporty Camaro was the Pontiac Firebird . Production on these cars stopped in 2002 . But in 2010 a new version of the Camaro using modern , yet somewhat retroactive styling cues was introduced. No sister car from Pontiac was ever developed, since that Division ceased operations in 2009 due to severe economic hardships at the time.
Chevrolets have also been reported to have been produced in other parts of the world including Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Japan, S Africa , and even Russia. Some countries used the Chevrolet name while others named their cars by a local more familiar brand name.

Models in small (1:64) scale of the Chevrolet are plentiful. It would probably be easier to try to list the few manufacturers (if any exist) that did not produce a Chevrolet model/ toy. The following list is of some but not guaranteed to be all of the manufacturers. A selected group consists of Tootsietoy, Accucast, Summer, Racing Champions, Valvoline/ Golden Wheel, Johnny Lightning, Carlectables, Benbros, Winners Circle, Action Performance, Kidco, Pole Position, Road Champs, Racing Collectables( RCI) , Matchbox, Hot Wheels,, Greenlight, Corgi Jr, Siku, Tiger Wheels, Tai Cheong, Mini-Dinky, Mego Jet Wheels, AMT Pups, Hubley Real Toys and Types , Yat Ming, GMP, Motor Max, M2 Auto-Thentics, Faie, Tomica, Majorette, High Speed, Ertl, Columbia Telecom , Imperial, Crown Products, Jada and no doubt a few others!

anybody got a extra Papa John's Camaro and Domino's Chevette to sell or trade....?

I believe the PJ's Camaros are still available James:

http://www.four51.com/UI/Customer.aspx?p=Catalog&CatID=UIIzi0-ssD8c-snVENE0rH0ND0MCtpUcZ1HASFIP89Og7nsgNdd2qadw-e-e

If that doesn't work for you for some reason, let me know and I'll order a few more and send 1 to you.

The Domino's Chevette is one you just have to watch for. Mine was on the Toy Peddler for quite a while, I watched it for a couple of months before I finally bit the bullet and bought it...but it is the *only* one I've seen listed anywhere. I don't spend a lot of time on the 'bay, so I can't say for sure what passes through there. Short answer is that I don't have an extra of that one to offer...sorry.

Wow! You guys have really responded . I wonder if there are any more brands that have not been covered. Without taking a lot of time to do a detailed elimination, I can't think of any at the moment. But, no doubt there probably are!
