Today's car of the day is Tomica's 2000 WiLL Vi.

Wikipedia

The Toyota WiLL series consists of three individually-designed cars, based on the mechanicals of other Toyota models. The series was intended to appeal to markets that were not covered by Toyota's mainstream range, and to discover how commercially feasible such unusual designs were. The American Scion range is based on a similar concept.

I still can't get over Japanese styling of EVERYTHING they have to have! This particular cast also came with the Tomica collector's pin in the box. A small button on the bottom of this car enables you to open the hood without having to pry at the front with a lack of fingernails.

Ever wonder what the world would look like if every car kinda looked like this?

Wikipedia

The Toyota WiLL Vi is a compact car, with distinctive styling combining elements of many cars. The bonnet and headlights seem to have prefigured the Citroen C2, while the reverse-slope rear window is reminiscent of cars from the 1960s such as the 105E Ford Anglia and the Citroen Ami 6, and the curvy styling of the roof and boot are similar to the Renault 4CV. The car features column shift automatic and a split bench seat in the front, centrally-mounted instruments and the 1,300 cc 2NZ engine from the Vitz/Yaris on which it is based.

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
UGLY! The Toyota people must have hired designers from the former East Germany for this series of cars. Or is it their own original socialist thinking??

I used to see an imported Will driving around near where I live but I haven't seen it for a couple of years. It's unique, but as Ivan said it's extremely ugly. That's probably why they never officially sold them in export markets.

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
Unique but ugly is an apt way of putting it. I don't know why people rip on AMC- Toyota has designed precisely one nice looking car in the last fifteen years (the 2000-2005 Celica). From bland (Camry) to absurd (this) to ugliest thing ever (xB), I have to disagree with Ivan's thoughts- Toyota's designers were obviously stolen from Maytag and the Hot Wheels division of Mattel. Forcing these two extreme schools of thought to coexist would explain everything...

Support your local demo derby.

It didn't get hit with an ugly stick, it drove directly into one! It's totally different from anything else I've seen.
