The car for today is the 2010 Ford Mustang GT by Greenlight.

Wikipedia.com

The Ford Mustang is manufactured by the Ford Motor Company. The Mustang created the "pony car" class of American automobile — sports car-like coupes with long hoods and short rear decks — and gave rise to competitors such as GM's Chevrolet Camaro, AMC's Javelin, and Chrysler's revamped Plymouth Barracuda. It also inspired coupés such as the Toyota Celica and Ford Capri, which were exported to the United States.

The Mustang is Ford's third oldest nameplate in production and has undergone several transformations to its current fifth generation.

The redesigned 2010 model year Mustang was released in the spring of 2009. It continued on the D2C platform and most of the previous-year's drivetrain options. The exterior was revised with only the roof panel being retained achieving a (coefficient of drag reduction of 4% on V6 models and 7% on the GT models.

The V6 for base Mustangs remained unchanged, while the Mustang GT's 4.6 L V8 was revised to specifications similar to that of the 2008–2009 Mustang Bullitt's 4.6 L V8, resulting in 315 hp (235 kW) at 6000 rpm and 325 lb·ft (441 N·m) of torque at 4250 rpm. Other mechanical features included new spring rates and dampers to improve ride quality and control, standard traction control system and stability control system on all models, and new wheel sizes.

Trying to find a flaw with this GL casting might be a faultless exercise. Never before in the 1/64 scale range for $5 have I seen a model look so life like down to the detailed engine bay. It's like Ford took the 1/1 model and shrunk it down perfectly in scale.

Thank you Sir Crafty for doing the feature on the real automobile and the casting.
I don't have this GL casting in my collection yet, but you can be sure that I will end up with one down the road.

My only comment on the actual casting is that the paint appears to be a little on the thick side.
Often you will find that malady that with red and yellow coloured enamel paints.
I do like the casting.

Cheers. Cobra

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
It is the best 2010 Mustang in 1/64, easily. AC has a good point about the paint. It gives the casting's details a soapy look. I'm sure other colors will look better.

 Agreed!

By the way, not to hijack the thread, but what is the story on the series of avatar's you use with the blond girl? I always enjoy them, and the cars are pretty cool and quirkey.

A great comment, Ward.
I have also often wondered about these images.
The ones that I really enjoyed were the ones with the leggy lady in the snow.
Maybe all these images could be enlarged and posted in the off topic forum.

Ward, I do like the red paint on the casting and would buy it.

Cheers. Cobra

Thank you, Sean. FYI, I prefer dark haired women, but most of these models are blondes. My favorite is Domonique, the one in the snow with the Chrysler Crossfire. I have at least two women lined up to do my OWN series of shots with my Mustang, but let's see if they actually follow through and do it when I call them on it.

I also wondered where you got your pics from Ivan...I always get a good laugh out of the leggy lady with car. :)

And for the Mustang, I love those wheels. They look great on this car.
