Anybody know if this was based on an actual car, and if so, was it jacked up in the rear?

The hood looks a bit off. Maybe it just buckled from all that power under the hood :lol:

I'm not aware of an actual 1/1 version . . . The whole front end looks off to me. My favorite memory of the DARE program, in 5th grade the cop that visited out class once a week was an actual alcoholic.

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
The hood is suffering from metal fatigue. One day you will look at this model, and the hood will be missing. Or perhaps you'll touch it, and it will disintegrate in your hands. It happens periodically, unfortunately. Racing Champions tends to be among the worst offenders of the past 20 years, but Mini-Dinkys hold the distinction of the diecast 'being most likely to crumble in your hands'.
