The car for today is the 2005 Chrysler 300 Hemi by Maisto.

Wikipedia.com

The Chrysler 300 is a full-size sport/luxury type sedan that was first shown at the 2003 New York Auto Show as a concept car. Sales in the U.S. began in the spring of 2004 as an early 2005 model year car. Designed by Ralph Gilles, the new 300 was built as a high performance, sporty sedan.

The Chrysler 300 is based on the rear-wheel drive Chrysler LX platform which features components derived from the W210 Mercedes-Benz E-Class of 1996 to 2002. Shared components include the rear suspension design, front seat frames, wiring harnesses, steering column, the 5-speed automatic transmission's design, and a derivative of the 4Matic all-wheel drive system. The Chrysler 300 also features a double wishbone front suspension that is derived from the W220 Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

The top-line 300C version uses a 5.7 L (345 cu in) Hemi V8.[2] Using the Multidisplacement System (MDS), this engine can run on four cylinders when less power is needed in order to reduce total fuel consumption. The United States Environmental Protection Agency has rated the 300C as getting 15 miles per US gallon (16 L/100 km; 18 mpg-imp) city, 23 miles per US gallon (10 L/100 km; 28 mpg-imp) highway. When all 8 cylinders are needed, the 300C can make 340 hp (250 kW) and 390 ft·lbf (530 N·m) torque. It uses a 5-speed automatic transmission and comes standard with 18 inch chrome-clad alloy wheels, Chrysler's MyGIG Infotainment System in 2008 and SIRIUS Satellite Radio and Backseat Television in 2008. The HEMI engine includes a pushrod induction tube, located on the side of the engine-block.

This tube makes the 300C more fuel efficient and quicker, because of the air being "pulled and pushed" into the engine's induction area. The engine uses the HEMI, or double rocker configuration, with a cam-in-block, overhead valve (OHV) pushrod design. There are two spark plugs per cylinder to assure complete fuel/air mixture burn and decrease emissions.

Typically I don't go for the blinged castings from Maisto, but this looked too cool not to buy. The paint and tampo work is above average and the casting does have a metal base.

Somewhere in this pic is a 300. :D

Sir Crafty, I do have this casting in two or more colours.
The novelty of the big wheels, etc. wore off quicky and I lost interest in them because they just weren't the right style for my collection.
Thanks for featuring this casting.
It actually looks decent in this colour.
It's nice to look back.

Cheers. Cobra

This is among the few blinged cars I have in my collection as well. The 300C is so over-the-top styling-wise that it lends itself well to being blinged. Probably the only car that looks right at home on wheels like these.

This casting looks great in blue.

It was offered in a multitude of colors, including:

When these Maistos were plentiful on the pegs, I bought a couple of extras to make customs (thinking I'd bring them closer to stock someday...I still may if I ever get the time, but some added rim color is all I've gotten around to so far)

Later, Maisto offered a blinged 300 C limousine

Dean, thanks for the images.
I appreciate the efforts that it takes for you to make the pictures available for our viewing pleasure.

As for the stretched limousines, I believe that they were a complete bust.
Those things collected dust for a very long time on the pegs.
I never bought one and never will. Better left in the past.

I liked the limos. At least they were real cars that I see used as limos- not like the M2 Stretch Rods. A Town Car limo would've rocked though!

Swifty, while on vacation in the first part of September; we stayed in a large motor hotel that had large restricted underground parking for guests.
While parked in that location, we saw between 20 and 30 stretched limousines of various makes including a couple of Hummers on our stays there.
And one stretch limo of note being a white coloured approximate 1995 Chevy Tahoe.
It seemed like it was 40 feet long.
This was the first one I had ever seen stretched out. Certainly something unusual.
