![]() The car for today is the JADA Volkswagen Golf GTI V. ![]()
![]() Visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Golf_Mk5 to learn more. ![]() ![]() ![]() I bought this JADA in Livingston, Montana at a K-Mart for $1 while on vacation this past summer. Livingston is roughly about an hour's drive north of the northern entrance to Yellowstone. The drive down on Route 86 is amazing through the Gallatin National Forest in southwest Montana. Even though scale wise it's a huge casting, JADA got the details right on this one. Don't have many JADA models in my collection, but this is one of the better ones. With all metal construction and realistic rubber tires and model correct rims, this one is ready to roll V-Dub style. ![]() ![]() |

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!

That's actually well done! And a $1? That's a bargain! Sweet score! |

Did you visit the Livingston Depot Center? It originally was a Northern Pacific Railroad large station (basically the dropping off point to go to Yellowstone overland). Structurally and aesthetically, a beautiful building housing a museum. There is an old west bar and restaurant in Livingston that advertises that it serves the coldest beer in Montana. My wife and I have been there a couple times and do believe the advertisements. There are many things to see in the area near Livingston if one takes the time. And back to the casting. I don't really collect Jada, but I do like the looks of this casting. Thanks Sir Crafty for doing this feature. There's always something to learn. Cheers. Cobra |

Great deal on a good car. It's oversized, but other than that there's nothing wrong with this casting. I've got it with those wheels in black. |

@ Gerry - Sure did stop at the depot. They had a cool HO scale layout in the mueseum. I liked sitting in the conductors chair that they had.
