I thought so too when I first picked it up years ago...but I haven't seen anything to support that. I've never seen another like it, micky d's or otherwise. I have also thought color changer of some kind, although I never tested it to see. |

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!

I'm leaning towards a color changer of sorts too. The easy way to test it if you don't want to dip it in water is warm it up in your hands, or stick it in a cool spot (like the freezer) for a minute or so. That's assuming that it still works (I have some Color Racers frozen in one color. The reason I suspect it to be a color changer is due to the yellow spots showing through where the green paint has chipped. I'm also fairly confident it is not a McDonald's promo. |

Hadn't thought of using the freezer...kinda moot now anyway, I've given it to a trading buddy who collects old bw's. The body is a weird plastic material, soft, almost rubbery, the same feel as the speed-a-saurus. Edited by juantoo3, Oct 14 2010, 12:58 AM.

I really don't know, James. I just know what I like, and when it comes to McD's there isn't a lot I like...the red caddy, the blue merc looking thing, the red and white studebaker wagon jump to mind, I know there's a few others...and then there's the repackaged mainlines that started the whole thing...but mostly I don't care for them. I really don't recall seeing any marks on the bottom of McD's cars to distinguish them, but I have to admit I haven't really looked. |
