The Mustang II is a Mustang too!

![]() Today's car of the day is Suntoys' 1956 Ford Thunderbird. ![]()
![]() For more information and pictures of the real car please visit: Ford Thunderbird ![]() For a dollar store generic, you wouldn't expect this to be such a nice looking casting. This is possibly the nicest Suntoys casting yet! ![]()

Quite nice for the price point . . . Are those the stock wheels? |

Yes- I've not done any sort of custom in years, and I've never run a custom without noting changes done from the stock car. |

A little small compared to the other 1st Gen T-Birds in this size range. Jon (Bangerkid45) gave me one or two when he came up to visit. Not bad. |

I haven't picked it apart, possibly because mine is still packaged, but I was impressed with the level of detail...even the tampos for the badges and emblems is pretty cool considering the tiny size. The only disappointment to me was the heft...it was really light in weight, the whole line was. Other than that I thought it was a decent piece for the money, although I can't help but think that if it and the rest of the line were offered at say Dollar General instead of Dollar Tree, the price may have been noticeably less, possibly two for a dollar like the offerings in the little plastic boxes. They even included the porthole window...how cool is that? Edited by juantoo3, Nov 3 2010, 11:36 AM.

I was very pleased when i found this little T-Bird in Dollar Tree. It has nice detail - complete with the porthole and the wheels are super nice - it would be great if some of the other Suntoy models were this nice. |

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!

Arrrrrrr!.....Are we looking at a T-Bird stepside pickup (side view) or is that supposed to be a wheel skirt in the rear quarter?? Bad proportions overall, but for the price, they can make good derby cars (is there a class for two seaters?) or junk yard filler......"OMG, is that a '56 T-bird all smashed up over there??"
