This limited production firm began with the prototype models made by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford. The production history over the years has been very uneven due to finances and various ownwership controls. But, this marquee has always maintained an aura of luxury and reliability. For example, one of these fleeting owners was the David Brown Group that took control in 1947. The Lagonda firm was also taken over about the same time. The new firm traded as Aston-Martin- Lagonda . The firm was again sold in 1972. Ford Motor Company took over control in the mid 1990s. Recently, Ford divested of this firm along with Jaguar and Land Rover , for Aston- Martin to again pursue some independency.

A prime example of a model in small scale is the replica of the DB5 with modifications from the James Bond movieland car!
