He had previously started A Horch & Company , manufacturers of the Horch from 1900-1939. The new firm was called August Horch and was located in E Germany. But due to the similarity of the two names, the brand was changed to Audi In 1932 Audi along with Wanderer, DKW and Horch became part of the Auto-Union Group conglomerate. But in 1939 Audi as a brand ceased operations . It was not revived until 1965 as part of the newly organized VW Group that took over the remnants of the Auto- Union firm the previous year. Audi production at the present time is very healthy. Their interlaced four circle logo is reminiscent of the four cars made by Auto-Union. Many small scale models of this marquee have been introduced. One of the most outstanding models was recently made by Matchbox of the supercar R8 .

AUDI is one of my favorite brands in the market for several years, I long for an Audi S5 with Quatro! In 1:64... R8 by NewRay And silver one in the back is a NR R10 A few I have in 1:43 scale... #8 Audi R8, Winner Le Mans 2000 #1 Audi R8, Winner Le Mans 2002 #5 Audi R8, Winner Le Mans 2004 #3 Audi R8, Winner Le Mans 2005 #8 Audi R10, Winner Le Mans 2006 #1 Audi R10, Winner Le Mans 2007 #2 R8, Winner of 2005 12 Hours of Sebring #2 The "Last R8" won it's final race for team Audi at the ALMS Lime Rock event in 2006 The First Audi Prototype as a coupe The R8C raced only once at 1999 Le Mans 2006 A4 DTM driven by Vavina Ickx (Daughter of Jacky Ickx) Edited by 69Stang, Jan 15 2011, 01:28 PM.
