The Mini was first introduced as a model line by BMC ( British Motors Corp) in 1959 within the brand names of Austin, Morris, Riley and Wolseley. the establishment of British Leyland (BLMC) resulted in Mini becoming a separate marquee. Also introduced about this time was the super powered model called the Mini Cooper. In addition, this car , over the years reportedly has been produced in other countries including Italy ( Innocenti ), Belgium, Spain and Australia. BMW had acquired Rover Group in the 1990s. This package included the Mini. In 2000, BMW divested itself of Rover, but retained ownership of MINI which is manufactured in the plant in Oxford England.

Small scale diecast models are now available of both old and new desins being replicated. One of these companies is Johnny Lightning

There are others in my collection I now wish I had pictures of...

Majorette - new Mini and new Mini Convertible
Pioneer - new Mini
Playart - old Mini
Sohbi - old Mini and new Mini

The Mini (old and new) has been so over-done in small scale. Surely there are others not yet mentioned or pictured in this thread that I am forgetting.
