This firm, located in Coventry England began operations in 1919 by producing bodies for different car companies. After WWII they concentrated on producing taxicab bodies. These were marketed under the Austin brand name. In the early 1980s the company began using engines from other sources and the brand name was recognized to be Carbodies and produced the FX-4 Cab . But , another name change subsequently occurred and the most recent cabs are recognized to be made bt LTI ( London Taxis International) A good example of the FX-4 Cab in small scale diecast was made by Matchbox. |
