Please excuse the website watermark. These were originally Hot Wheels Redline Custom Corvette casting(body only) I had purchased Diecast Minatures on the east coast inventory of Muky's long ago and found these variations among them. The White Vette is the rarest Enjoy ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Muky is a bit obscure and clouded in legend (among redline HW collectors) here in the states. Seems quite a few of the original casting tools that Mattel developed for the first 16 Hot Wheels, and possibly a few other molds as well, ended up in Argentina being used by Muky. Muky also has a reputation for crude finishes on their product, but they have turned out some novel variations with the old Mattel tooling. Some of the things they've done with the old Deora and Turbofire castings are pretty cool, I think. These are the first I've seen the 'Vettes. That is quite a variation collection going on there, one I'm sure isn't easy to put together here. Very nice! A couple of other obscure names of Latin American companies to keep in mind regarding redline HWs and JLs...CIPSA, and LILY LEDY. I hear of a company in Brazil that used MBX tooling under liscense as well, but the name escapes me at the moment. |

The majority of the finishes are nowhere near what we have come to expect from today's quality. The many variations for example of the Deora are quite crude and eye raising to say the least. You know they were meant to be simply toys for children, and never meant to be a collectible by any stretch. However the box art is exceptional. Today a collector could spend a lifetime acquiring the many variations of these alone, with price not even being an issue. Simply finding them in the first place and knowing what to look for. Some where along the line Mattel let the genie out of the bottle, never figuring they would turn up later, of course Mattels mentality back in the day was that serious "adult" collectors only accounted for 3/10ths of a percent of their market...little did they know how many closet collectors there really was.... |

Here's my Muky Corvette - black, no stickers. I acquired it through Dave Weber's Argentine collection a few years back. ![]() As far as the variations go, it seems they just slapped on whatever was at hand at the time. I have "Super Turbo" that the box says is a Lamborghini, but is sports a large Ferrari logo. Whatever...
