Picked this up at the HWs club this month. I bought mostly other brands than HWs. I saw this and I knew it was coming home with me. I would like to open it but have to wait until I can find some room for it. Even the shelves are full....LOL I did not know that Mack actually made regular pick up.

Too bad Yat Ming is not putting out product of this caliber anymore. I would definitely be a buyer of such quality looking pieces.

Support your local demo derby.

That one should have opening doors on it. The Mack was about the htf from that truck series along with the Studebaker. Sweet score.

That was a very nice set by Yatming that I foolishly let get away. By the time I found them, one or two were missing from the full set and I talked myself into leaving them. All of them are nice, but the Mack and the Studebaker were the standouts. Superbly nice score! Would love to see these come around again!

Now, if we can only talk them into adding a 37 Hudson to the lineup...

It is sad these Yat Ming pickup models disappeared from the market place so quickly. They were very well done and I thought a nice new direction for Yat Ming to pursue in small scale diecast. I believe they did a few cars of similar quality before they "vanished". Outside of Evers Toy Store in Dyersville, IA the only place I ever came across the pickup trucks were the Walgreens Drug Store chain (and that was in Sioux Falls, SD). I got the Mack, Studebaker and one of the Ford's.

The line of hot rods you're thinking of are the Shyne Rods. Here's a full list of what was available:

There were other, factory-stock cars in a later series, after the shine rods, which is what I thought of. New and old Corvettes, Chrysler 300 C models, Mustangs, etc.

Regarding the Mustangs/Corvettes/300s: did they ever release the custom set? Seeing them just now is the first I've ever known of them.

Not to my knowledge, but that isn't the same as 'no'...
