My 1/43 scale garage diorama, still a work in progress. F 100 Fords are the obsession and the modifying keeps me busy.

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!

Welcome to the Garage! ![]() The customs (and dio) both look good. I'd love to see some more pics of the stretched one, if possible! I also see a project truck in the lower right corner and I love PIPs!

Swifty, Thanks for the comments, been playing with models for close on 55 years now, F 100's are a passion, and the mods are just plain fun to do. Will post more shots of the stretch pickup, the dual axle set up is popular downunder. The other truck is actually a finished item, built up as a yard truck, all knocked about. Latest project is a long bed F 100 in 1/43, combined two pickup beds and extended the wheel base. No one makes a long bed in 50's ford pickups. All my mods are based on Yatming stuff, cheap and easy to find. Great site this, much needed for blokes like me to get ideas etc. |

Welcome to The Garage George! Nice diorama! Below are some pictures of my Durham (made in Canada) 1:43 scale F-100s. I started collecting 1:43 scale models in 1969. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Stutz, Those Durhams are great, would love to have some in my collection, but they are rare on the ground downunder, and those that are about are very expensive. Have noticed some on Ebay Canada that I was tempted by, but divorce is not a cheap event! I have a vast range of Matchbox, some early Mattel and a couple of other rare ones that live out of sight, so that will have to do until a Durham comes along at the right price. Meantime I'll happily play with mods on the yatming stuff. |

George, I like the 1:43 scale Matchbox trucks better than the 1:43 scale Matchbox cars. They are really nice for dioramas. Not a Ford F-100, but still nice (especially the price). ![]() ![]() ![]()

Actually sold off a heap of Chev pickups I had in 1/43 Matchbox, to concentrate on Fords. Used the tow set up from one of those Chevs to fit to a M/box F 100 as they didn't do a Ford Tow rig. The rest are all MIB with certificates. I had to draw a line somewhere, the collecting was getting way out of hand. I also have F 100s in 1/24, mainly plastic kits and God knows how many in 1/64. Most of the 1/64 are MIB or still on the card. As I said there are a few "hidden" away. Divorce is not an option at my age. |

I'd like to see your Ford tow set up George. Here's a pic of a 1:43 Brooklin Chevy tow truck.

Thats a neat looking truck, even if it is a Chev. not seen that one. Matchbox had a few Chevs in the 1/43 range with tow set ups in the back, I had maybe ten or so of them, and sold them off. In hindsight should have kept them, but the Fords were the passion. |
