Support your local demo derby.

Pretty cheap and effective display case. Just takes a bit of time and measuring and wa-la, ya got a home made display.

Wow, that looks really nice! I am envious! Woodworking creativity and skill must skip a generation, as my dad could (and did) build all kinds of stuff, things from a custom desk built to fit a small cubby area of my apartment in college, to a 120 square foot professional looking tool shed in his back yard. My brother and I, on the other hand, would be hard-pressed to create two short 2x4s from one long 2x4.

Very nice. I am one of those who measures twice and it still doesn't come out right. A carpenter I am not!

Thanks gentlemen.I have the luxury of having a shop that has anything you need to build something, but I was also trying to show for those of you who can chop wood and end up with ten fingers a simple and inexpensive way to make your own since the other ones cost so darn much!!!

It the same with me and my brother Dean. I can't hammer a nail in straight if my life depended on it. My dad and mom has no issues with carpentry work. I can turn a wrench like nobody business but cutting, hammering and sawing is not in my skill set...LOL

I think it turned out great Sam. I would like to do something like that butI just not that good at it. I guess I would do better if I practice more. Well, thats what my mom says anyways...LOL

what are the dimensions and how many 1x3x96 did you use?
if you were to make so it held 10 cars a shelf, would it need reinforcing in the middle?

James ,I used 2and a half boards, this one is 20x20,and the background is small grid chicken wire screen. If you wanted to make one for ten cars per shelf you probably would need to use a solid backer board and nail through that for support, but it just depends on how straight your lumber is.I would go 36in wide for a 10 car shelf.
