Listen is it certain about the Kiddie Kar trip on Friday? Somebody's gonna need to call Joyce and let her (or Mike) know. If we're going, we need to set a specific time to be there!!! And BE there!!!

I do believe this is already part of the plan, but Sean would know better about the time frame.

I've covered this already- we are NOT going to Kiddie Kar on Friday night.

Multiple reasons:

1. We moved the dinner to Friday night to keep the show going on longer on Saturday. We won't need to leave the show at 5 and then rush over to the athletic club by 6 to eat as in years past. Speaking of food, the dinner isn't at the athletic club this year. I think that's been mentioned but I wanted to specify that in case anyone missed it.

2. Joyce will be at the show on Saturday. If someone has some specific requests for items they want her to bring post them here and I will call her up and forward those requests on. Perhaps I can arrange for a group to go over with her after she packs up on Saturday?

3. Last year we had a very small group go over to Kiddie Kar. I'm actually surprised there's this much interest in going this year. Unfortunately this year's plans were made based on last year's results.

Some of us (well, at least one :P ) have no idea what the store stocks...I'd be all for going Saturday if Joyce doesn't mind the extra hours.

I guess I bumbled through the part about not going to KK on Friday. I do recall the group was smaller last year though. Possibly due to the new England crew not being there and the overall turnout being a bit smaller.

I like the idea of keeping the show running longer on Saturday, so this plan may prove interesting. However, my feeling is that by Saturday night, most of my diecast money will be spent elsewhere. Not that this is a bad thing either, since there never seems to be enough cash for all the cars people bring anyway. And with Nick selling his BWFs, this might work out for the best.

I just love going to Kiddie Kar so I'm making my own plans. If there is enough interest for a group to go on Friday afternoon then I'll drive straight to Denver and then go to Reading with the group. If not, I'll stop in Reading on my way in. Brad is gonna be at the hotel late Friday morning and he will be checking with who is there to gauge the level of interest. I'll call Brad before I reach Reading and he'll let me know.
Either way, I'M GOING TO KIDDIE KAR!!!

Talked to Joyce this morning- she is not opposed to opening the store on Saturday after the show if there is enough interest. Of course if half the crowd goes on Friday afternoon while the rest of us are at the Green Dragon flea market than that means there won't be enough to make it worthwhile for her to do so for the rest of us.

Do they have a website? It would really help swing my vote if I could see what they stock.

It is not a very good site. It does not show much of anything.

I would love to see in the About Us section the origins or inspiration on their name. Very poor choice in initials. (unless you are into that I guess)

To address the inquiry about what KK stocks, let me just say that for 1:64 it's MB, M2 and JL primarily - current and older stock. They have some 1:43 and 1:24 models and other odds and ends. It's just a cool place to go to because it is a wall-to-wall-to-floor diecast shop situated in a residential neighborhood with friendly owners. ^_^

See, 1/43 is really my focus right now, and I'm so hit or miss on everything else I couldn't possibly give them a cold list of items to bring.

Maybe what is called for here is a coordination of arrival times, green dragon expedition schedule, then see if there is enough time to actually hit KK on Friday. It seems to me that most folks are at the hotel and checked in between noon and one. Jedi said he would be there around three. Doesn't this give us three hours to kill before dinner?

Most of Friday is spent going from room to room, chatting and scoping out the cars people bring up until late afternoon, early evening when everyone usually goes to KK. And last year we even tossed in a trip to the flea market in Friday afternoon.

How about a roll call of folks who want to go, and will be there by three at the latest. See if anyone gets left out who wants to go. If all are present and accounted for by then, it may be possible. And would still give most of us from around noon to three to do the room to room thing, hit green dragon, etc....

Does this sound feasible, or helpful at all?

Ricky...what is that soda Tena likes? Since I live in a different area, I thought I would look and see if anyone carries it.

That sounds like a decent plan Robert. I myself would prefer KK, but I also enjoy flea markets so I really can't lose. But my vote is for KK. I should be there around 3, but with a trip that long it's hard to tell exactly.

Joyce from KK will be at the hotel and set up on Sat. so small point in going over.
As I said, we'll be there early and Tena and I will be back from Green Dragon by the time some of you arrive.

Guys, please stop second-guessing and planning around us.

A lot of folks have long travel times and staying at the hotel from the time you arrive until 3PM rolls around allows for most folks to get in. Green Dragon is right down the road from the hotel. Kiddie Kar is about thirty minutes away. Also, a lot of people are bringing things to sell or trade- there will be things to see/buy at the hotel. Let's go to Kiddie Kar after the show on Saturday afternoon to allow everyone who wants to go the opportunity to go. Remember- if there aren't enough people to make the trip to the store it won't be worthwhile for Joyce to open it up for us.

Sean is right. They are the event planners who have kept track of arrival times. The rest of us haven't. And just by looking at the last few posts, it is clear that some are going to get left out if we proceed to go off on our own, or inconvenience Joyce, who will clearly be hopping all over the place if she attempts to accommodate everyone at random times.

I'm going to stick to my original plan with KK. If I make it to the hotel in time to go with the group to the Green Dragon, I'll tag along. Otherwise I'll just head down there and meet everyone. I'll just have some time to relax with some good scotch and a cigar Saturday afternoon after the show.

Oh, and before ozmont chimes in, maybe I'll sneak in a nap!!
