Support your local demo derby.

The Meyers is is an old model from earlier this year. The Boss is nice but I'm tiring of Mustangs and Camaros from HWs.

Maybe what I should have called this post is Knew Aquisitions :02:
The Meyers Manx is actually from 2010 :P
Personally HW can keep pumping out Ponies :flame: 'till I have every single solitary Ford Mustang and variant [BOSS/Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters/McLaren/Roush/Saleen/Shelby/Steeda] only THEN will eye B a TOTALLY satisfied Pony Enthusiast :bangles:

The Boss 302 is a must have! Thanks for the pics!
I was incredibly disappointed when I found it. HW has been doing pretty dang well recently, but they have royally screwed up one of 2011's most important cars. Clearly I can't trust them completely, should have known...

Why? The back wheels of course. I am sick of it. It's even more insulting considering the 302 LS is essentially a dedicated track car (real tracks, with turns) and not a turnkey drag racer like the Cobra Jet. Of all the models to do this to...wasn't the Aventador enough???

I suspect that part of the reason we've seen so many new Mustang tools lately is Hot Wheels is reusing parts of the existing tooling. The rooflines of every single different 2005+ Mustang (that's debuted in the Mainline and not a premium series) look far too close to one another to be completely new tools from scratch. We're in a down economy, tooling investment money is limited, and various Mustangs (and Camaros and Challengers) are money in the bank. Modifying the existing tools enough to get a new casting out of it makes fiscal sense.

That's my guess based on what I've seen with these cars- I haven't taken them apart to see what makes them tick, but perhaps Ivan can shed some light on the innards of the cars and how close they line up to one another.

Not bad. I think it sucks that HW used an old casting, just a bit refreshed. :(

Like I said, I don't know for sure. But that's what it looks like to my eyes. What we need is a good customizer to tear all of the new Mustangs apart and see what makes them tick. And there are a lot of them:

2005 GT
2007 GT-500
2010 GT
2011 GT-500
2012 Boss 302

I may be missing one or two of them.

That one I'm confident was an entirely different casting.

I guess I'm the only one that remembers this one. I haven't seen it since the FE.

That one looks great, and would have been perfect to modify into a 302 LS (that's what the real car is, after all).

Hey There,
I'm surprised that U haven't seen this in the wild, it's been released a dozen times since the F.E. .
Hot Wheels Wiki Entry 4 da 2010 Ford Mustang GT<<<Click This<<<
