Daniel, this was one of my three holy grail JL castings.
I finally bought one in the last couple years.
It is still in the blister.
I just can't open it.
If and when I get another one; then one will be opened just like this one shown below:

And I still think that this is the best real Ford car ever produced.
The 1963 1/2 Galaxie 500 XL Sportdroof is a stunning automobile.

Thanks for all the fabulous pictures of this casting.
I love them just like the casting.

Cheers. Cobra

Your welcome Gerry. I took her out because I will never depart with her. She as you said is one of the best Ford Models.

I'm truly surprised that Sir Crafty hasn't commented on this casting because I know that he is another collector who is a huge fan of this casting.

Maybe it is time that Zach wandered over to this forum.
JL castings are o'kay too!

BYW James, it's wonderful to see you posting here again.
With Leigh being here in the last couple days, it's like old home week.

Cheers. Cobra

This is one casting I wish I collected more of. I'm always impressed by the pics. I'll have to start grabbing some of these when I find them.

Support your local demo derby.

With the kind help of James, I'm down to only needing two more versions of the '63 Galaxie to be complete. He sent me the Coca Cola and the Road Trip Rel 1 version. All I need is the silver BTH and the recently released Georgia mud colored Lafayette Nascar version.

This is one casting I wish Tom would do in some stock colors again. We've only have three true stock configurations to this one out of nine releases.

Excuse the semi blurry pics. I got a new camera for Christmas and I'm still figuring this thing out. Takes great pics . . . if only the operator was as up to speed as the camera. :P

The '63 Galaxie is one of my top five favorite JLs.

Great topic Daniel.
