Excellent set. I ended up finding this set at a flea market place for $5.00. On a side note, I've only been to a drive in theater once in my life. Sadly the movie we saw was 'Liar, Liar' and the movie was awful IMO. So were the insects that night too... Edited by JeepXJLover, Jan 5 2012, 08:59 PM.

Is it a Drive In or Sail In. Been to a lot of Drive Ins, but none with a boat dock... ![]() |

Both of the Drive Ins I know of within a hundred miles of here are now flea markets. Many a happy couple of hours spent in Drive In Movie Theatres...I really miss them. Sneaking in by riding in the trunk was one memory... ![]() I've seen movies from Little Foss and Big Halsey all the way to Smokey and the Bandit (multiple times), 2001 a Space Odyssey, and ET, all in movie theatres. And then there's a couple movies I don't really remember...was more focussed on the company I was with at the time...

El Centro, CA still has a Drive In theater, which plays current movies every night. Cost is per auto, so no trunk hiding necessary.

That a nice set up. My last movie I saw at the Drive In was Superman The Movie. I saw it several times when that movie came out. Of course I was 6 or 7 years old at the time. There is a Drive-in still operating close by but never have time to go see the movies anymore. |

We actually have 2 within 30 miles one in my hometown gone to all my life which just closed down a couple years ago and another one we try to go to once a year at least... This one has dual screens so they play 4 movies a night good times! |

Well now...if the trunk lock doesn't work, then it's not such a good idea. However...they could have saved themselves a lot of embarassment by simply picking up on and removing the rear seat back and letting them out of the trunk that way... You could do that with those old cars like that...

Have two drive ins in easy access (Rhinebeck and Glens Falls NY) but don't go to either of them- why would I want to get eaten by mosquitos when I can sit in my air-conditioned home instead? The scene though...hmm, that's darn close to perfection! That 41 Chevy wagon has got to be my #1 most wanted JL Tooling. |

Don't forget that MB produced a set of" Elvis at the Drivein" dioramas , some years ago! As I recaall there were 5 cars in the set. They were designed by the same guy who did the original Elvis set; a former acquaintance Jim Richardson in the former Mt Laurel NJ office. I think I just sent all the dioramas, without the cars I had remaining to Wes in FL . Hopefully he can make use of them! |

I bought a couple different ones but not all of them. They were a little on the expensive side here so I limited myself on the ones that I ultimately bought. Here is one of them: ![]() The casting on the left is a Johnny Lightning. Also shown below: ![]() Cheers. Cobra |
