Nice, ain't it?

By the way, this red one here's the very first Superfast I ever encountered, anywhere. My cousin had it. By the time I saw it, the axles were broken. Odd, because the finish was still in very good shape. I surmised that the axles were not strong enough to accept the kind of punishment Matchbox models were renowned for...unlike the early Redlines, which only had to deal with the bends. This, by the way, was the concern of Jack Odell and Leslie Smith, as well. By 1972, the thin wheels and thin axles were pretty much a thing of the past.

The 250 GT Lusso could be ordered in the same green metallic the Matchbox came in. I've actually seen pictures.

Same! ;)

I'm surprised that with the popularity this Matchbox model has had over the years Hot Wheels has not made their own example of this car with their exclusive license. It's about the only major Ferrari they haven't touched (same with Kyosho).

One of the Italian makers had one in the smaller scale- Penny, perhaps. The Matchbox is much nicer.

I would love for Hot Wheels to do one...I've been waiting for quite some time now.

Who needs Hotwheels to do one when this is nice enough!

Looks great with the Superfast wheels, but I think it looks even better with the original regular wheels with the wire-look.

I know. The wire wheels certainly do perk things up. I favor them, too.

Variety is the spice of life, James. Everyone and his mother cast versions of the old 911, in varying degrees of quality (and in some cases, should've been strangled in its infancy, e.g. the Corgi); everyone casts Camaros and Mustangs ad infinitum, AD NAUSEUM. Here's one of my absolute favorites, and I, myself, wouldn't mind seeing more versions of it :) Sublime, it surely is :D

I looked it up on the Internet Movie Car Database and they've got it labeled as one. Here's a shot from the front:

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
Perhaps these postings will remind Mattel that this car has yet to be done, and it'll go on their Ferrari queue. The MB version is nice, but obviously out of reach for many of us, so a new casting would be a good option.
