The paper I used for the garage diorama I purchased from Steve. I hope this isn't illegally giving a reference but this guy is very good at what he does and if your serious you need to purchase the products he produces. Great stuff. http://stores.ebay.com/Stangfreaks-Diecast-Fun?_trksid=p4340.l2563 One more thing why does this Pontiac have a blue block? I always thought Ford used the blue blocks and Chevy products like Pontiac used orange or red. Just asking. Edited by daniel60, Jan 26 2012, 12:18 PM.

WOW... Thank you for the cool "Passing Of The Word" Daniel... Sure appreciate the free advertisement !!! LOL !!! That is one clean Goat... Mine don't look near that good, and I would consider mine mint... Love those chrome steelies .... Mine had ugly gray wheels until I did a wheel swap... Here is one of the four I have... Pontiac did have a blue engine color, but it was more a greenish blue... That color in the casting is way off... That's more closer to Ford blue... Ford had a dark blue and a light blue, and in the older days a red engine color !!! ![]() Edited by Stangfreak, Jan 27 2012, 04:35 AM.

Ford also had gold coloured V-8 (overhead valve FE) engines. Chevrolet V-8 engines were all orange coloured from the 1955 265 CID V-8 engine onwards as far as I know. Canadian Pontiacs used orange coloured Chevrolet engines atleast from the 1960's onwards (283, 307, 327, 350 etc.). American Pontiac overhead valve V-8 engines were all similar shades of blue to that depicted below as far as I know: ![]() Some Ford FE V-8 engines: Ford in-line (straight) six: ![]() Ford engines also come in a darker shade of blue. Cheers. Cobra |

A quick note to add: I believe that some of the 272 & 292 CID OHV V-8 engines of the 1955-1957 vintage may have been painted red. Cheers. Cobra Edit: that would be Ford engines. Edited by accobra64, Jan 26 2012, 08:09 PM.

Great pics, and I have no problems with links. Especially when they're to Stangfreak's site. Steve's another of the great folks in this hobby and he does great work.

Yes accobra64, they did for sure... My grandpa had a 56 T-Bird back in the day and I remember very well that bright red under the hood that opened backwards... I was barely tall enough to peek over the fenders... Awesome pics you posted there of some GREAT AMERICAN MUSCLE !!! Nice job !!! I still can't get over how clean and sleek looking that JL Goat is that Daniel posted... That is one fine looking car... Those chrome steelies grab my eyes every time !!! An excellent job of photographing it too !!! Edited by Stangfreak, Jan 27 2012, 04:44 AM.
