White.. Probably a 1980s release; not sure. I got this recently from a friend :) He said it should remind me of my youth, and it does.

Because I grew up with one of these

No, that's not the original survivor; my original Texaco car has long since been turned into a pop can. :(

Support your local demo derby.

Not easy to go wrong with any 8 dot MB from the 80s.

Love the casting.

How many white variations were there?

Very nice. Definitly 80s. I have, or had, one of these. It may be one of the cars missing, some of my collection is missing...but I know I had both of these versions, and a yellow one as well.

I had one when I was younger that is long gone. Now I only have the MC Toy version, which is a copy of the Matchbox.

There were also two versions of this as Taxis in the Lights and Sounds series - sorry, I should have dusted them off before taking the pics:

There's quite a number of variations of this car. I recently found a well-loved yellow version and put it in my salvage yard. The white also was available with a white or grey spoiler.

I always really liked the Matchbox Sierra....even more than the real car.

Here are the 20 variations on the Sierra that I have in my MB collection:

(The white ones were made in England, as yours should be...the England made Sierras were the earliest, from 1984)

As David pointed out, the white one had a variation in regards to spoiler color

The silver is also an England release

When production moved to Macau, the silver version became a creamy silver-gray color, the tampo became a darker red, and the windows went from clear, to amber

wheel variation

This yellow is a fairly common variation

With gold wheels, is a bit harder to find

What was planned to be a BP gas promo issue, became this release, which still has the outline of the original "BP" logo underneath the black area of the hood

Some rally releases (I think the Texaco car was the only one of these available in the US)

Light And Sound Police

And the taxis, same as shown by Dingo. My two taxis still have their light and sound function, whereas the police and security versions no longer work.

Great pics guys!

...As for the light & sound variations, what sounds would a two light taxi make?

Same generic siren as the cop cars....which is ironic that those are the ones that still work, since they are completely unrealistic...flashing lights and a siren on a taxi would get the operator arrested around here...

...And then you'd have the times when you need to constantly push the seat forward to seat people in the back...

...Because that's convinient!

I'll definitely add the taxi variation to my wish list.
