![]() ![]() ![]() Nissan Axxes or Prairie as it was called overseas. I remember these being quite popular when I was little, then they all dissappeared. I thought they were always the predecessor to the Quest, or maybe it's smaller? On a side note, I really love the Matchboxes from about 1980 or so up till the Tyco Error. |

I too like this casting. Not sure what they are calling it here, but they are still seen locally. I agree with the casting styles too! |

I've seen them listed as Praries. I have one on the way from an online sale with 8 dots. |

I have a copy of this one. It's missing some paint, but I got it new. I don't have many Nissans, I can think of less than 10 in my whole collection. I do like vans, but at the time I got it, I don't really think my likes and dislikes had been set in stone yet- back then, I just got stuff randomly, whereas nowadays I get NASCAR and Factory Stock American almost exclusivly. EDIT to add: I don't remember mine having a blue interior. I want to say it has a tan interior, but I have not seen it since 2008 when I photographed my street car collection so I could be wrong. EDIT, part II: Obviously, my memory is not that great. Blue it is. Anybody know what model year it represents?

Me too. I grew up with them but the ones I used to play with when I was little were either lost or broken, but they've now all been replaced. |

I have two-one in dark hunter green, with Nissan in gold tampoed on the side, and another in two tone blue. I'm only sorry it didn't come with left hand drive-would've made a perfect dio minivan. The selection and availability of minivans for dioramas is somewhat...er...limited. Body Geek, I LOVE the dust. The wipe away on the backlight looks like one from the rear wiper after a summer rain! |

I remember the first time I saw a picture of the Prairie / Axxess. It was in a Sears advertisement that was in the newspaper, around 1992 or so. There was a picture, advertising the Sears holiday catalog, and it showed a Sears catalog with various Matchbox (and maybe Hot Wheels, too?) parked around it, like it was the Sears store. The advertisement was something to the effect of: shop anytime with the Sears catalog. The vehicle which stood out the most to me, was the Nissan minivan in blue over silver (which at the time, I didn't know what it was, but I knew I had to have it). I wish I could find a picture of that ad, but everytime I have tried to search for it online, it doesn't turn up. Here's the version I saw, all those years ago. ![]() The silver seems to be the most common. It was the first one I found as a youth. ![]() Red was an exclusive re-color in the Sam's Club 30-pack gift set. ![]() The dark green is the most attractive, I think. It was an ROW release from 1997, at a time when the KayBee toy stores in the U.S. were stocking the ROW line. ![]() paramedic ![]() Graffic-Traffic ![]() City Services 5-pack, Taxi ![]() Scuba 5-pack ![]() |

I can't stand the "Nissan" tampo on the sides though. So I put my vote for best variation to the two-tone blue & silver. |
