Has there been any decision made on this years event cars? |

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
|
The event cars have been in hand since last summer. Nick's done a great logo for our fith show (hard to believe five years already!). And yes, there are two cars again this year...and I think everyone is really going to like what we've got in store! Both cars are the same brand of diecast, and well...we've used this brand in the past. I'm not going to narrow it down further than that yet. So the field of candidates would be: GreenLight, Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Johnny Lightning, or Yat Ming.

Hmmmm, I am intrigued. You guys are enjoying making a mystery out of this aren't you? Well, it usually turns out well in the end. Can't wait to see what's in store! |

We kept a secret up until the week of the show last year also. I admit, that's all my fault. Some folks prefer to show off the cars well in advance to help hype the event. I like to think our previous work speaks for itself and the aura of mystery for this year helps build some anticipation for the show. Besides, in this information age, normally convention cars (or action figures, or anything else) are leaked months in advance and then there's no surprise when you get your cars. Where's the fun in that? ![]() But then again, I was always the kid who ended book reports with "if you want to know how it ends, you'll have to read the book." |

I would have to agree with that. Plus, I think CARnival is taking on it's own rhythm. The regular crew just plan to show no matter what (if at all possible), and we always have a rotating roster in a smaller number of folks that shifts from year to year. I've only missed one due to financial ends not being so great. |

No. This is a show in Denver, PA in April and put on by several members here on the Garage and a few others. Lightning Fest, if it's held this year, will most likely be held in the Chicago area in July or sometime during the summer. |

Swifty wants to keep the cars secret but that does not mean that the logo needs to stay a secret. ![]()

Judging from the additional silhouetted shapes on both sides of the central design, one might infer this years design was created to cover a fairly large door space. And though there might be several muscle cars with a door that is fairly large...last years cuda had such a door. Also the initials instead of spelling out Keystone Carnival might compensate for reduction values considerably. But one might further inject that unless Nick was very sure his lettering was going to hold up, that this years broader logo may be designed to fit something in the shape of a panel delivery, wagon, or even a van. Hmmmm, the casting has gotta be the HW Dairy Delivery with RRs!!! That logo sure would look great in orange or red with flame licks on a black truck. Know what I'm talkin' about?

Hey Robert, I'm dying to see your new ride!! Will this be your first long trip with it? I'm probably going to take my wife's Forester this year. I don't need to add so many more miles to the 157K on my odometer.

This will be the longest trip with it so far. I drove it for about an hour and a half the day I picked it up. Since then it has only driven back and forth to town. Making CARnival on my own is a milestone after the years of going through lousy financial difficulties...among other difficulties. I'm hoping this fall, if you still plan to have your gathering, to actually make it this year

Mark. my Jeep made it 2 years ago with 165k on it. No a/c made it a rought trip though. And the Fusion is a much more comfortable ride than a 10 year old lifted Cherokee. |

Robert, consider yourself invited! It would be great if you (and your wife, of course) could make it. My Cruise Gathering will be on the 7th or 14th of October. Chris, I'm sure my Five Hundred would make the PA trip with no problems. It's just that I need to hang onto it for at least another year and a half or so until my wife's car is paid off. Then again, we have college tuition to deal with so I might have to hang onto my '06 for awhile longer. I won't be surprised if I see 200K on my odo. Forgot to mention, I made my room reservation yesterday! The 13th will be here before we know it!!!
